I went to see it yesterday evening with my whole group of friends and yeah it was painful to watch the movie is as bad as everyone says and more. I didn't want to believe it until seeing it for myselft but it's the truth

On the contrary, I didn't particulary feel Gaga's absence. She was underutilized and her character underdeveloped but still made brief appearences throughout the whole movie so...

In all seriousness I don't know what the director was thinking nor where those $200M budget went. With how bad word of mouth is being I doubt it will even break even

There's no saving this. We have to eventually make peace with the fact this was a mistake and move on to the next thing

I agree with you that the music was not the primary reason for it's floppage. But how would Toad make it how they wanted? First Joker fans were already skeptical about the sequel even moreso when they heard it's musical. Still, when the first full teaser was released, even those fans were seemingly enthusiastic (because lbr, the first teaser was awesome) about it.

Anyway, I think the movie is just boring. Plain and simple. The amount of times Arthur was taken in and out of the jail was borderline comical and Gaga being present for like half the movie and at the same time felt like she wasn't even there is just :deadbanana4:

Cinematography was good as well as Gar and Joaquin's acting but that atrocious story/script belong to the trash bin.

IMO Toad should've just gone full on Bonnie and Clyde with Harley and Arthur. Harley and Joker falling in love and Harley  helping Arthur break out of the jail and then wreck havoc, cause chaos and whatnot. I also think people would be more forgiving of the controversial ending of they just focus on BOTH Harley and Joker, their love story and the inevitable death of one of them if not both of them at the end of the movie, at least that way it would justify the subtitle of the movie: Folie a Deux.

If we compare Joker and Harley into a song, their significance to the movie should be like DWAS, both developed and contributed equally to the story. Instead we got Moves Like Jagger  17HSMdI.gif

The ending is not really matter if Todd makes him wear the persona he took on at the ending of the first film. The fans doesn't want to see Joker's psychology analysis, they just want the show, the entertainment.

The movie is kinda meta if you ask me. No one in the film cared about how Arthur feels and thinks, just like the irl fans don't care who Arthur really is, they just want to see him do the things they dare not to do in real life. I would say it's very iconic.:gaycat5:

Repeating the same ending of the first film won't be any less disaster, it will just make the sequel  more useless and will add absolutely nothing to the narrative. I get where Toad was coming from making the ending but the execution was just bad. Like I said, go full Bonnie and Clyde to appease the mindless fans and at the same time offered the twist at the end. The backlash wouldn't be as severe if we got balanced treatment of the characters, throw some fan services and then still go for the ending. Arthur can still be Arthur, but at least the movie won't be such a slogfest.

Posts like this are so meta and parasocial..

What about a celebrity, in this case Gaga, starring in a movie that is not successful is embarrassing or humiliating to you? How is your life related to this situation?

Posts like this are why she stopped communicating with fans and why y'all will once again make her insecure and miserable to the point where she doesn't even want to release anything and all this when she finally got passionate again about her projects.

Y'all are so weird and dramatic I swear. Only here for success and praise.

Or it's just acknowledging real STATS.. that it TANKED so BAD.. no sugarcoating no "Cupcaking" plus exaggerating

This is a terrible idea. It would anger her fans, and the press will pick up on it and write articles connecting the song's delay to the movie flopping/getting negative reviews. She should start teasing the new era next week and put all her energy and attention into it.

Yeah. That's even a worse idea than move on and release the single and promote the hell out of it.

The way Harlequin is the only thing coming out of JFAD with a positive reception. Gaga was smart to release it :gaycat5:

The album was a great idea.

The vocals and production on the original album are rough, so I just pretend that HQ is the original soundtrack :clap3:

Gaga's biggest enemy are her fans - Pop a 911:mummy:

Harlequin jumped to 73 on MC. She now has the same numbers in her score as 143: 3 and 7. Gaga and Katy Perry are so on the same boat.

There is no need for you to be embarrassed or humiliated about the movie not doing well. You are not in it, you are not Lady Gaga and you don't even know her.
