Oh how im gonna laugh out LOUD when 21 year old Dangerously in Love, which was released during the PHYSICAL era, overtakes 4 months old Cowboy Carter, an album with 27 tracks released during the streaming era, in terms of streaming power :ahh:

I'm really curious if she'll be at the DNC?  They've been speculating on MSNBC

I feel like she wont, but she has the braids..... :lmao:

It would be Thursday right, if she ends up performing? That would be the night Kamala is officially nominated? I'm British and I keep up with it all but I'm still a bit in the dark

So is Cowboy Carter officially done? Am I delusional for thinking that she hasn't abandoned this album? Am I wrong for believing she's done with this album? IDK what to think when it comes to her and this era at this point. I'm genuinely confused.

Yeah the CC era is done. I don't even know if promo would help with how low the momentum is at this point.

So Texas was CC's TikTok moment then? No cute little challenge for Tyrant or Bodyguard? I would've guessed at least one song to blow up there à la Cuff It.

I almost wish sometimes we could fast forward through to the legacy stage of Bey's career.

Stay with me lol...

We are very much still in the imperial phase/top-tier/competing Queen era of her reign, which means she is firmly driving ish (rather than being driven by the industry). In the bigger picture, she remains "the" one to beat, the reigning champ, and is in no way against the ropes.

In one regard, it's exciting because she's the one act (for me) that I can literally say I've followed since the first single to have had a career as long and successful as hers. The first act I can say I lived their rise, peak, and journey into legacy phase. There's rather amazingly been no true dip/flop/career blip or scandal to "come back from"  either. In so many ways, it's all unprecedented territory.

However...

I'm really eager to be able to assess her career and her antics from complete hindsight and also from an aerial view.

Because, it's abundantly clear a lot of her antics are deliberate. Over the last 10, 11, 12 years, she's positioned herself as a luxury product. The rules for which will always be "limit the supply, increase the demand". Her current Cowboy Carter run is totally emblematic of that in that we will for sure jump at whatever the next thing she does with it.

But I've always been really upfront about the fact that I have NEVER bought that she doesn't care about sales, etc. I think since 4 she's just been very careful to cultivate an "image of not caring" so that the expectations aren't what they are for those who solely measure artistic relevance by numbers.

I guess I say all of this to say I wonder if she'll journey back towards more traditional Pop star antics when her legacy phase is truly upon her, thus gifting us another key cornerstone of her career journey. We've had the 1) all-out omnipresent promo era of her early days  2) the renegade era from ST to now.

I could see her either playing ball again or going the Sade route and diving into further into the enigma / mystery side of things.

If Blue has any talent and has voiced the wish to become a musician/star herself, Bey WILL step down. And Blue, for all we know, could very well debut in 2029 at the age of 18.

i wonder if she realized the interest just isn't there for this record and scrapped the tour.

her not wearing the cowboy hats is interesting. because she was making the renaissance pose all the way up to the release of texas, even during the downtime between august-february between the act i release and tour.

should we expect act iii next year now?

I think it'll be largely dependent on what deal she makes with touring but with how last minute the additions were to CC I don't know what to expect from the timeline of this rollout anymore. If she plans on releasing the visuals in their entirety with Act III then reshoots will have to take place which might motivate her to have the album locked sooner than CC.

Cuff It Wetter Remix doesn't hold a candle against 2 Hands 2 Heaven so just by that song alone..........

ne7LodF.gif

Cuff It Wetter Remix can have Alligator Tears and Desert Eagle.. I'll give her that

Speaking of what's left of this CC era, let me piss of y'all off today :sistrens:

AR/Daughter/Spaghettii/Flamenco/SHB/Amen are not singleworthy, lets start there...

White America is not going to push Beyoncé covers of their beloved classics like Blackbird/Jolene

16 Carriages should've been a bigger hit than TH'E and deserves Halo's spot as her most recognized ballad.

Protector could do damage with a live performance.

TH'E did exactly what it shoulda and coulda did :clap3:

Bodyguard will be recognized one day. Bey just needs to randomly put it in a rom-com or something

Alliigator Tears could've been a country-radio only single but that ship has definitely sailed

Just For Fun deserves to go #1 still!!!

IIMW is horrible and I'm glad radio never picked it up

LJ deserves nothing after Post Malone became the feature ***** of 2024

Ya Ya's awful cut-off damages its single-worthiness

Desert Eagle will always be #1 in my eyes :eddie:

Riiverdance honestly should've gotten the BMS treatment with new remixes. I should've heard way more DJ's mixing that into their sets this summer.

2H2H is too long

Tyrant is annoying and deserves nothing :sistrens:

Yes if she performs at all it won't be until Thursday for sure. I honestly believe she will…I haven't seen any major musical announcement made regarding the dnc yet so even if the odds are slim, there is still a possibility she will perform.
