Burn Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I love how she’s not even acknowledged this #1. At least she acknowledged BMS.
Lose My Breath Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Hopefully Beyonce does preorders and releases physical components, because she could do less than 100k in the US if not, after seeing Ariana's numbers 2

Why did the US loose love for this so quickly. I want this to be the biggest first week sales of her career! She deserves all the love and recognition the world has to offer.

It's held pretty well everywhere else outside of the US after removal, but has kind of collapsed here in the states 1

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, does the "Beyonce can do what she wants" and "numbers don't matter" crew finally see what a lot of us have been moaning about? Streaming success of one song does not always translate into huge numbers for its attached album. Ariana, as an artist with a younger more streaming-based audience, is doing a little over "good" numbers but isn't just storming out of the gate with this project. Bey actually has the advantage of always doing well with physicals to offset her previous lagging on streaming. So, it will be vital for her to make that a big part of her sales push alongside streaming (now that her overall streaming numbers are up). I'll reserve remarks in full until seeing Ariana's streaming vs physical breakdown, but there's just no reason for Bey to not already capitalizing on the "Beyonce goes Country" hype with a preorder link. Texas, while doing decently, is now sliding in her main market, which makes me wonder about what that means for the album's opening). Hype is a very fleeting and intangible thing, as is virality (just look at the impact of it being snatched off TikTok). Imagine her having the preorder up DURING the thick of it all. My very rational worry is that she's letting both hype and curiosity purchases slip through her fingers, while also giving herself a way narrower window to sell competitively big numbers. Sis keeps teasing us with a good rollout only to sabotage it in some way. I am always positive in thinking it’s part of some master plan. Either way I am excited that this month we get a whole new album from the queen. This month!!! Let that sink in 🤪 1

People do not realize that streaming does not give you huge first week sales unless you're Drake, pure sales do ! With almost 60M streams first day, Ariana is predicted to do around 80K from streaming. 2
Rafael Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I feel bad this is "colapsing" in the US but at the same time we are talking about 1M+ daily while BMS was already doing 400K at this time and that calms me down a bit 3
BnPac Posted March 9 Posted March 9 But anyway, I am actually pretty confident, I feel like they must have a plan! There's no other way. 3

That's collapsing. Sunday will be probably 800k or less 1
Beyoncei Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Wonderful, Fabulous people. I have always loved reading all of your comments, inputs, reviews and shadiness. I am now 31 but I remember being in college studying mechanics (lol) and this being my safe place to be myself and feel closer to B. Thank you all. I finally created an account… We are in the middle of a great time to be a Beyonce stan and I hope you all don’t mind me finally joining. Thank you all for being a huge part of my 20’s (behind the scenes). 10

She’s dropping the preorders during the Oscars with the official film trailer. Netflix has set aside 100M for a massive ad campaign 3

Cbreezy Posted March 9 Posted March 9 In trying to remain Optimist Hive, Imma just hope there's a something they have up their sleeve. Because, to her defense, none of us imagined the Verizon thing would be what it was. And that single-handedly turbo-charged and accelerated everything that followed. If there's a tour or live something on the horizon, she needs to not play and make the people preorder the album for presale access. Billboard doesn't let artists bundle anymore, but there are permitted ways of making one pillar (touring / live shows) work to the benefit of another (music sales). Similarly, cash in on that damn Amazon relationship; IIRC Taylor did some kind of exclusive merch/music deal with Amazon for one of her albums that helped move big #s. Possibly delulu, but I also think we may really be getting the visual alongside the album or in the same window as the album. Maybe the part 1 of the rumored 2-part film. Something about Nadia Lee Cohen confidently sharing "coming soon" with the trailer and the current radio silence makes me surmise that it's their main "promotional vehicle". Spoiler Even then, because there are no guarantees that that will translate into tangible sales, I still think the preorder ought to have been here. But alas it is what it is. 2

swissman Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I wonder if the act i leak has informed how she's doing the rollout this time around. We all know how she hates leaks, and how 4's leak led to the digital only release of ST. Not saying it'll be digital only, but perhaps her keeping the physical copies under wraps for longer this time is somehow related to that. (not sure how that would matter but who knows... perhaps she's producing them later this time so that the window of people with access is smaller)...

Kristie Kuwa Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Quite frankly, I dont care about the whole preorder debate. At the end of the day, ill buy and stream whatever she throws at me, so my reality wont change based on the fact we get these info 1 month before or 1 week before. Its not like my life changes because people might do some impulse purchases. Also, lets keep in mind we underestimated Beys pull both during Renaissance and the THE release. She has always exceeded our fears and predictions. In Bey I trust 1
