Devin Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) Beyoncé ft. Brittney Spencer i can see it. Edited February 6 by Devin
BGKC Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) Tbh I don’t know why some hives are so up in arms about Jay’s speech (as if it’s cringe or a bad look). I get that Bey don’t need yet another person to speak for her (be it Adele, Kanye or Lizzo) , but that’s her man… and tbh, that man is a quick witted comedian. I loved seeing that side of Jay. He supports women + he’s an LGBTQ+ ally (which is still somewhat taboo in the hip hop community). I am here for it. Edited February 6 by BGKC 4 5

You'll hate me for it, but I think it'll be an evolved version of JT's Man of the Woods, Gaga's Joanne and Miley's Younger Now. It's not really country, but has elements that make it sound that way. Bey will make it hers and it won't be the country everyone expected. 1

Black people can win, it just needs to be inoffensive music. Single Ladies, About Damn Time, hell even the two pro-Black songs like I Can't Breathe or This Is America are a very surface-level approach to talking about racial issues vs. something like Alright by Kendrick. Hive might find it hard to believe but the closest she ever came to AOTY was IASF and her doing another album full of boring pop ballads like Halo would get her that win. The bias is against "urban" music, even white Eminem never won in the GF. It will be years before the voter base is young enough to not have that ignorant bias to "urban" music. NURSE!!! She’s in here…

ShouldersSideways Posted February 6 Posted February 6 She mentioned going to the rodeo as a kid in the same harper's bazaar issue she teased a Renaissance coming. The Houston Rodeo kicks off in 18 days

tachiwaka Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Sooo why don’t we think she can win AOTY if she puts out a country adjacent album? I think if there hasn’t much profanity, she might have a shot, depending on the other competition. 6 minutes ago, Devin said: T*ylor with TS20 at 2031 Grammys. The fact that this is super likely 2

The bias is against "urban" music, even white Eminem never won in the GF. beyoncé is fully aware of this and that is why her music is that radical. she will never go back to boring inoffensive themes in her music. that is why her existence pisses so many people off. because she holds power and longevity without the need to play the game anymore. she was forced into an inoffensive pop box for years and even her biggest vanilla-est push was still NOT enough to move the needle in her direction. she knows she is not going to win this award, but to be frank, it IS as simple as race. Especially when someone like blondie doesn't have to do anything worthwhile on an album for it to win. even her own fans agree it is a forgettable record and not at the top tier of her discography. you have to be twice as good to get half as much as a Black person in any industry and the same applies here. 7

Jon Snow Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Back in 2020 I believed act ii would be out at the end of the year lol. My updated prediction is Summer 2024. The way Taylor will release four albums in between the two acts...

She was the only one to win a General Field Grammy out of the AOTY nominees (also because Gaga was ineligible for BNA which is insane/hilarious).

She was at the top of the world winning in both pop and R&B fields, SOTY win over Taylor, 6 Grammys that night And if she had submitted Single Ladies for ROTY maybe she would have won that too.

Yeah but I don’t think any of those were at the caliber to win, at the time - self-titled seemed like her first attempt at telling a story instead of just putting a tracklist together. Her transition into “albums” and more authenticity included cursing 1 hour ago, yonsé said: because people think she wins too much. shes an "urban" artist as well and they hate when artists don't stay in their genre. remember how the country voters rioted because she submitted daddy lessons as a country song? Green Posted February 6 Posted February 6 By the way, is Act II really happening? I'm still waiting the visuals for Act I I just hope Jay-Z's speech didn't hurt more Bey's chances. Some people in the audience didn't take very well the part where he said "some of you don't belong in some categories"
