I basically said this but got dragged but users circle jerk when someone else says the same thing. I love being the blueprint. Anyways the geepee (outside of black twitter) is not happy. The homepage from my wirk computer is some media site similar to msn. Sure it’s overrun by conservative white folks but the Beyoncé/Jay article has more comments than likes. I don’t even want to read it. The other Grammy articles have more likes than comments which is a good thing.

Fleahive Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Then of course you have the chronically online social justice warriors saying we shouldn’t care about Beyoncé Grammys when she’s silent on a genocide and everyone agreeing below lol.
Jon Snow Posted February 5 Posted February 5 1 hour ago, Kalmanta said: If she really goes the country/rock route, I don’t even expect her to get a lot of genre noms. she'll always have some R&B and funk tracks that could be nominated in her categories. assuming grammys continue nominating her for the views and for the sake of not being rasist, she could be getting around 5 nominations with the next two acts. also, if she decides to release visuals, she has best video and best music film to look forward, too
Lose My Breath Posted February 5 Posted February 5 What a surprise that Dua had one of, if not the best performance of the night 6

Fleahive Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Fantasia shouted Beyoncé out on instagram and said she wants to do a song and performance with her. Do you see this happening? They’d sound great together on a track especially for a country album but I can’t see Bey performing with her. She knows the comparisons will start drama. I wish she’d let it go, learn to be free again on stage and just show out. Who cares that people are gonna say Tasia was better. Just have fun. 1
MonsterJohn Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Just come here to say queen Blue serving so hard, bey and J must be so proud 2

Rotunda Posted February 5 Posted February 5 2 hours ago, Kingdom said: Honey jay could have gone on that stage and said "grammys are the greatest ever, fuckkkkk drake and the other people boycotting" and bey was still never going to win it. SZA loss is the confirmation of that. SZA had everything beyonce haters used to say bey did not have at one point or another....SOS performed and is performing better than MIDnights on the chart, had more acclaim album and singles wise, snooze is a bigger chart hit than any song from midnights......SZA had only 7 credited writers, she is more relatable....YET she lost. They have a terrible blindspot for black women winning AOTY...Only 3 in the last 60 years. The last one was 25 years ago. Jay and bey know bey will never win it...that is why he felt comfortable saying what he said and they really don't care anymore. I support what he said. There’s a saying that “the first woman president will be a Republican,” and I think something similar is gonna be true for AOTY. The next Black woman to win is going to have a very White-catered image. 1
MrPiggyMoka Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Blue looks absolutely beautiful and she always was. She’s grown so much, it’s amazing to see. She looks like a mix of Solange and Beyoncé it’s crazy. The next supreme maybe?

Remember, Alicia Keys was a Grammy wet dream, songwriter, biracial, talented, instrument player, etc. She got SOTY and BNA Was nommed for ROTY and STILL didnt get AOTY nom.

Its very recent, I legit went on her IG page yesterday to randomly check for Act II: RODEO last night and it was one of three links

It's one thing to go on stage for 70k people screaming and cheering for you, it's another to walk up there in front of an arena full of celebrities and the world watching you on international tv. I don't know that I could do that as an adult tbh. 1

satellites.™ Posted February 5 Posted February 5 38 minutes ago, Rotunda said: So you think no black woman will ever win AOTY again? Ive been racking my brain on this for years trying to see who the voters could agree on with all the moving markers in place. Adele, Taylor, Billie are all the kind of women they eat up. SZA should have been the lock, but again, how are her relationships behind the scenes (it is a vote)! Mind you Kacey Musgraves won AOTY too ?!! It will be someone who has a major resurgence and manages to deliver an iconic album like TEOM after her 40's imo. I honestly don't see a newcomer, especially a pretty one, winning AOTY if she's black. I'm old enough now to understand how voting works with all of the parameters and moving variables we don't get to see. Just imagine how many people close to Taylor, Jack, Billie, her brother, and other industry people who grew up together are on the voting committee? Would you vote for SZA if you don't even like or listen to R&B? We are outnumbered! 1
Shelter Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Rihanna might be the next black female to win. Rih is more pop and it’s become more about popularity now than it was years ago.
Jon Snow Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Have you guys read what Matthew said about the label not pushing her album for the win but pushing Adele's and Harry's instead?
Machete Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) I follow the Grammys deeply and the issue isn't as simple as plain race. Black people can win, it just needs to be inoffensive music. Single Ladies, About Damn Time, hell even the two pro-Black songs like I Can't Breathe or This Is America are a very surface-level approach to talking about racial issues vs. something like Alright by Kendrick. Hive might find it hard to believe but the closest she ever came to AOTY was IASF and her doing another album full of boring pop ballads like Halo would get her that win. The bias is against "urban" music, even white Eminem never won in the GF. It will be years before the voter base is young enough to not have that ignorant bias to "urban" music.
