i say it’s Yvette GRAB HER

WHO booked her that tiny ass stadium in london, only one show in Paris, no shows in Italy, irrelevant German cities instead of Berlin and munich etc. like she is BEYONCÉ. And WHO is telling her to skip the rest of the world like those stadiums won’t sell out in 10 minutes each like they did in europe, got her going to ******* kentucky and Minnesota but not São Paulo?

Bey underestimates herself, the only project where i think she was fully aware that it was gonna be a smash is lemonade, and I think she thought EIL was gonna be a huge success and…:noparty:

4, ST, the gift, Renaissance you can tell she thought would flop. She even put it in the lyrics of haunted that she didn’t think it would make any money back from she put in

I think Beyoncé expected EIL to do better than it did, given it was the third piece in the Lemonade trilogy after 4:44 (which I actually think is a beautiful statement and end to that saga), BUT I also don't think she put any value whatsoever in its success or failure. I mean...I love the album but the era as a whole has less thought and care than even just Formation. They recorded it while rehearsing for their tour, it was not giving "this is meant to be my next smash masterpiece", it feels and sounds very much like a fun record to put out while on tour.

The tone of this base changes so quickly lol.

Last night it was "Beyoncé is asking for too much" now it's "Beyoncé thinks too small."

Idk I think they thought it was gonna smash, there were rumors about a joint album from them way before it actually came out and I think she thought it was something ppl really wanted. It wasnt, but I’m glad she had fun doing it. It felt like a jay album ft. Bey when it shoulda been the other way around

Why do you guys assume they thought Renaissance will flop? Nothing points to that.

I don't think a team of professionals who are in tune with Beyoncé's career wouldn't recognize that The Gift and EIL are different than Beyoncé's own projects. Not only that but The Gift even before BIK was more successful than the movie's own soundtrack. I also don't think Parkwood is a problem, my uncle always said that the mindset of an organization, a country or a group is a reflection of their leader. Beyoncé is probably just more obsessed with the creative side of things at the exclusion of anything.

There was also very little from that article to go on about. We all don't know anything.

yeah it's kind of jarring and frustrating to see that they think so little of what they can accomplish. It might explain some of the odd choices.

What the hec is the disconnect between her music persona " top 2 and I ain't number 2" to thinking her album lowkey won't do well? She isn't the best manager for herself.  Era's like lemonade and Renaissance had so much opportunity to be major.

While they may seem opposite, the common denominators of both sentiments are that she's out of touch, has questionable judgement, and is bad at fanservice.

And these things are true :fan:

An artsy music film is just not gonna attract the attention of people outside the her hardcore stans the same way smaller music videos would so if she’s tryna get millions and millions for them then yeah that’s unrealistic BUT if she really thinks she can just tour the US and a couple EU cities like she’s some small artist and not THEE Beyoncé THEE star THEE female artist that everyone looks up to then that’s also unrealistic

Really? It felt more Beyoncé heavy to me, if only for the fact that she sang hooks and rapped verses. But do you just mean the type of production and tone of the album was more in his lane? I can for sure see that, though I think that's what's refreshing for me as a fan of this side project, it's another avenue for her creativity that she might not otherwise utilize on her own. Plus I've always really enjoyed her features on his albums (Hollywood, Part II, Family Feud, and of course her cover of Holy Grail)

only one show in Paris,

Actually the France's thing was kinda unorganized. They had another Paris' show and a show in Lyon ready to be announced. They just didn't make sure to get everything in order and check everything before hand. Because of the railroads' summer work, the other dates could not go through. Which should have been a known information to them. They just made a mistake.

That’s what I’m saying it was her singing hooks on his songs and then going into his style instead of her singing songs and having him as a feature like smh I blame him she probably wanted to let him have his moment on those songs. Summer and Apeshit are exceptions to that though.

the album sounds more like all those jay ft Beyoncé songs you listed and nothing like the Beyoncé ft jay songs that are way better

On a positive note I'm as impressed by Renaissance's album tracks' streams as Lemonade's (whatever you guys say, the singles' streams are flops but the album tracks are actually doing good).

Even in the streaming era, she's still a album's artist imo.

:ace: She coulda done like 3 more shows in Paris instead LMFAO they would’ve sold out. Hopefully she’s doing more shows, I’ll make my way to paris, brazil, sydney etc. for muva :jonnycat:

probably the same asshat who tells her "no Bey, the fans don’t want performances and more singles they want obscure easter eggs and gowns, cause YOU are the queen of the world"

and yes i’m blaming Yvonne for all of that too

I don't believe for one second Bey expects to perform less commercially than she does. The lady has been doing this for 25 years. Y'all just say that to try to explain her lack of trying :rip: ultimately, she just doesn't give a ****.

Exactly.

And people are acting like it was Beyoncé on the phone making all these dumb af bookings, sewing the shitty merch and pressing the vinyls herself like she doesn't have a team full of dumbasses making these stupid decisions. :dies:

Right :rip: She clearly doesn’t want to be more commercially profitable than she already is and some people trying to blame Parkwood or whatever is just funny. She could have had 1-3 more top 10 singles from this album which would have carried it and she did not want that. Period.

Parkwood = Beyonce in my eyes.

Then there are just idiot cosigners like yvette.

EIL sucks and was a clear last minute attempt to justify the tour and sell tickets. That's the entire reason they recorded it in like one week in a damn stadium. :rip:

Summer and Apeshit are enjoyable and I liked Nice at the time, but it aged horribly. The album was full of cringe lyrics and the production was dated on arrival. I'll never forget the way y'all went up for the mumble fest that is Friends. :deadbanana4:

SALUD! was actually my favorite song of that album and you can't even easily access it.

Um, she is still responsible for those things. She's been touring for 20+ years and should understand venues. She should also know what a nice t-shirt looks like. Y'all need to stop making excuses for poor decisions and mediocrity at this stage in her career

but she clearly does give a **** :rip:

the whole "queen doesn’t care about charts” thing is tired, yes she does, otherwise she wouldn’t use Voldemort’s tactics of releasing quick lil remixes, instrumentals and so on to boost her song to #1.

she wouldn’t put up a month long preorder with vinyls for her new album

she wouldn’t brag about her stats in her music 24/7 if she didn’t give ****

she/her team play into these new strategies and clearly still (somewhat) try to keep up with her peers / new generation. sure they fumble it and could do WAY more with the exact same effort they put in now (which is barely the basic minimum lol), but it’s clear she still cares about commercial success (which makes the whole self sabotage and half assed strategies even more nonsensical :tornado:)

The correct answer she doesn’t care. She’s comfortable in doing what she wants when she wants. Only part that bothers me is she could easily capitalize and extend her hit singles of new era but again she dgaf. :rip:

I get that, but also think she wasn't trying to make something that sounded like her own work.
