It was the first song that i knew that the album will be one of the best album he's released so far and i'm right yes In Your Eyes is a bop but just like you, it's hard to pick top 3 for the album since all of them are so great On 1/1/2021 at 3:15 AM, TalkThatRihanna said: After Hours x2 On 1/1/2021 at 4:52 AM, Moonlightbae said: Midnight Sky & Say Something After Hours (both song and album) On 1/1/2021 at 3:21 PM, D/X said: The Weeknd The production for this album was really high level. Haven't listened to the album as a whole but hopefully MS is a good sign! Didn't know Tyler dropped a loosie I'll make sure to check it out. After Hours (song) really feels so short even though it's like 6 minutes long. Truly a cinematic masterpiece Nice to see someone else who hasn't given up on Gorillaz lol. I thought Song Machine was a good album with tons of great songs in it. Fiona, Roisin, Yves, Abel Don't much care for RTJ much. Tkay sounds interesting I just saved that album, you recommend any of her other albums? Also I never knew that Daveed Diggs () was in clipping. Kinda makes me want to listen to them even more Yes Tyler released 2 outtakes songs from Igor but wow the fact both of them are still 10/10 Queer really are exellence! nnnn Gorillaz always have a place in my tiny little heart ngl. I really did growing up with their music even when they released a bunch of duds in the 2010s (except for Plastic Beach of course nn) Tkay previous EPs (Switch Tape LYWW, Vol. 1) and her self-titled album are also good too. But i feel like her material before this year was kinda lackluster imo but this year she really found her sound in LYWW, Vol. 2
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 Spotlight - Jessie Ware from the album What's Your Pleasure? (February 28, 2020) I can't help but smile everytime i listen to it. This song is just unbearably beautiful. The way the intro just melts and dissolves into pure disco bliss, channeling herself as Donna Summer in the 70s and the string orchestration between the chorus and seconds verse foreshadows the outro’s melody. This song shines with clarity in our increasingly ironic current musical landscape. Stunning! Spotify Apple Music Youtube And now the moment i've been waiting for... The top song of 2020 is... Ice Cream - BLACKPINK & Selena Gomez from the album The Album (August 28, 2020) Nah just kidding lol Physical - Dua Lipa from the album Future Nostalgia (January 30, 2020) Honestly, i can't choose between Spotlight & Physical since both of them are 11s in my book. But i have to pick between these girls which one that i love the most and i choose this one. Not-so fun fact: did you know that this song is the reason why I become a Dua stan? As someone who casually listen to her music, I would have never thought that I would purchased her stan card in 2020 but here we are. Physical is a fantastic blending modern and older aesthetics to an absolute tea. The song has a mix of authoritative and playful elements that give the song an addicting presence. The lyrics are a call to arms and you feel every single one. It also does what any good pop song does; be absurdly catchy and makes you wanna dance. Spotify Apple Music Youtube
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 Future Nostalgia - Dua Lipa (March 27, 2020) Dua Lipa's sophomore album is one of the best pop albums of the year. it takes nerve for her to release this album that blew any expectation I had out of the water. This has some of the best production I have ever heard in pop album this year. Everything is so clear, punchy, intuitive and memorable and also Dua constantly changes the texture of her voice to suit the production aesthetic on each track make the experience even more satisfying. This just really shows how charismatic Dua is as a singer. All the lyrics here communicate the emotional high of each song perfectly. This album is an absolute breath of fresh air in a difficult time and in a mainstream pop landscape. I'm so glad that she made this difficult year for me is more enjoyable thant i thought it would. Top 3: Physical, Love Again & Break My Heart Spotify Apple Music Youtube Well... The top album of 2020 is... 01. Chromatica - Lady Gaga (May 29, 2020) nnn i'm so sorry for doing it again What's Your Pleasure? - Jessie Ware (June 26, 2020) I know this pick is so predictable for most people, but i can help but love this album. "What's Your Pleasure?" easily the best album of the year and honestly this is like an older sister of Future Nostalgia but light years more mature, layered, and sophisticated. While it can feel like at times like a homage to the 80s, it executes that aspect perfectly and Ware also gives it her own individual stamp on top of it. Everything in this album feels unmistakably her. After previous albums sounds more like generic pop/R&B, it's clear that Ms. Ware wanted to make a special album based on her own favorite music and influences, and it really translates better than I could have ever imagined. Yeah this album is a masterpiece that filled with danceable rhythms. 2020 has been a sh*t for a lot of us but this year also for pop music. We've gotten so many wonderful music from different artists, but I'd have to say that this one is the most fabulous surprise. I was not expecting this to be as ****ing great as it is. I'm so happy yall. Top 3: Spotlight, Adore You & What's Your Pleasure? Spotify Apple Music Youtube

About the song meaning, Tori explained: Quote "Sometimes, when you express thought to people, you leave it open for somebody to tromp in there and start tearing it down. I sing, Father I killed my monkey, to lead off the song, which explains that sometimes you even destroy your own so they can't excavate it. When I was growing up, I started becoming very secretive about my thoughts and the sensory world I would go to, because there's a lot of mind control that goes on constantly, people wanting access: 'What are you thinking?' So sometimes I'd have my own defense going, which would be to look them straight in the eye and make them think I've killed my imagination. But it's like, I'll take control" Spotify Apple Music Youtube 117.
