You are comparing Drake's peak vs other artist's least succesful eras after a decade or two in the business.

You tried.

Clinging to the good old days. :heart2:

Global is in comparison to what other supposed global artists are doing TODAY, not almost 10 years ago.

Using your logic, Katy wasn't global duirng her peak either, since in 1985 global artists were doing 15 million+ outside America. It's all relative to the current time. And Drake is doing globally better than other big names in this current time.

No honey, don't try to act brand new since you're old here.

You have to compare the artist's level of success outside his biggest market to see how local he is.

If you are selling 900k in US and only 100k everywhere else, you are local.

And you are adding streams of hits to his album sales, so 100k is pretty bad for a smash era.

Witness and Joanne were selling 50-60k without any smashes. (Chained To The Rhythm was a hit but it was released 6 months before the album).

And of course my point makes sense. You point is INVALID. According to your logic Dua LIpa is bigger than Madonna because her debut sold more than Rebel Heart.

All the artists you mentioned been there, done that and are 10x times bigger WW than Drake.

Your point is incredibly dumb math. :rip:

Using your logic, an artist that sells 3K with 1.5K outside US, is more global than someone who sells 3 million with 1.4 million outside US. :lmao:

The NUMBER is what is important, not the ratio.

Joanne & Witness fell like rocks in the following weeks, and this album will stick. Creating a MUCH bigger total. :heart2:

Dua Lipa is more currently successful with her music at the moment, yes.

Just like Drake is more global than Katy currently. You understand?

Is there any Drake album with over 2 or 3m sales outside US? If he never had one album with over 2m sales outside US. He debuted when album sales were still a thing. HE IS LOCAL. Deal sweetheart.

All the artists you mentioned sold MILLIONS outside their biggest market.

Edit: I checked his wikipedia and he has like 3 or 4 certs for every album with US, Canada or UK being the only ones worth bragging about.

Is he going to cross 1m sales overseas with multiple streaming hits? I doubt it. Local he is.

Who knows, but I do know he'll do more than Witness/Joanne/etc overseas.

Perks of being more global in 2018.

Taylor also sold less second week outside US. As did Sam Smith, Justin Timberlake, etc.

The only one who's done more by a big amount the past year is Ed Sheeran.

How can you be local if you're outselling everyone but 1 artist outside America?

OE28L8P.gif

Unless you're an Adele stan, you don't have any nerve to drag his numbers, he's outselling all our faves.
