Mmm... fair enough.

Shape Of You might be too strong for Ed to even dethrone himself with a third single. At least initially. But we'll see.

It's not a single, just a promo track. But considering how big and global he is, I think it might happen!

Might aswell call it SOYlent green

Love it! Gonna use it 4 sure

Ed Sheeran's single "Shape of You" stays at #1 with a 30% LEAD while being sold at FULL PRICE.

What. The. ****. Is. Wrong. With. You.

This thread (and forum, but I don't read much outside chart section and Taylor base) is so disgusting sometimes. But sure I'm the one being rude. Congrats on successfully making me really angry. If that was y'alls goal, you have reached it.

And I see a lot of people being pressed about IDWLF being discounted and nobody being pressed about SOY killing it. It's doing amazing in sales, amazing in streams, amazing on airplay. That's impressive. And I like Ed. Wish the song were better.

Hopefully the Selena song can reach #3 :dancehall:

I'm pretty sure the decision is down to Universal Music Group anyway.

keep rising, selena.

Idk why people are saying this was rude. It was honesty. The person very clearly made no sense, even to me. Lay off of the good chart sis everyone. :celestial5::hug:

OT: What's the deal with ppl hating on discounts? It makes the song more accessible to many and allows so many people to chart better. You don't hate on YOUR faves when they discount, so why drag Taylor when she does it ONE TIME? Please, chill out everyone.

My fave doesn't do discounts. I can't relate :sorry:

I guess discounts will become the norm now. Interested in seeing if a song will ever be discounted on its release week, tho.

I heard Cold at the clerb yesterday. It sounded nice! Looks like it should manage a #5 peak by Fri-Sat.

Taylor has never discounted her songs either, don't mistake her with another pop girl. It was explained more than enough here already that the discount for the lead soundtrack is controlled by Universal/Republic who promote the movie and the soundtrack album this way. Just keep ignoring that I guess. :toofunny3:

It doesn't matter if Winnie The Pooh was the one who decided to discount the song. The point is that a Taylor song (its hers since she's co-lead and wrote it) is discounted. Nor Columbia nor XL Recordings have discounted an Adele song ever. Just stating the facts :gaycat5:

My fave is the Queen of "no discount even if her life depended on it" :michael:

Dont wanna piss at my own fave, but Adele's albums actually were discounted some days around the Glastonbury, every artist that performs there gets discount apparantely... :dancehall:

Oh and only in UK of course, but still

The competition is the weakest on Thursdays. It's obvious that's why they released it on this day. I don't think this will ever crack the billboard top10

On the other hand, could you please remind me how many times was 1989 discounted in the last two years?

And it aint the world that songs are discounted esp if its from new/less known artists it's a good way to get it out there.

Monthlong discounts on already big songs/big artists are a bit pathetic tho but it's not the end of the world :michael:
