"Strong" top10. #11 is only at 22%.

Despacito still has more than a 2:1 lead over #2 in downloads. According to @simmnfierzig, the song's lead is just under 2:1 overall. Has Despacito reached a 2:1 lead over #2 any one week? I would think BB would've said so if it had happened. Maybe taking over the lead in airplay could make that happen.

Minnd**** despacito :jonny:

The fact it will be the biggest hit of the year in US not just internationally...

Honestly Despacito probably would've went number one without the Bieber remix.

@simmnfierzig If the original overtakes the remix would BB stop crediting Justin?

Not really. It was gonna chart a bit high but pop radio wasn't gonna touch it. They weren't at all until the remix n then boom. I say this as someone who's Latin n was following its performance and hates Bieber and his remix.

Won't happen tho that's the version people hear on the radio. I'm glad Latin pop plays the original one(at least in dallas).

I surely am but in Europe it's been smashing since forever, well before the remix was released

Same here in Asia, and honestly this song has been up in the radio since February whereas they've killed Shape of You since May :rip:

No sign yet of Demi on iTunes Top 200 yet or on top 1500, probably since the song was released about 40 min ago. Still too soon prbably

Where do you live? I’ve been hearing it non stop since February and I live in the US :rip:

this song is shaping up to be one of the biggest songs in history. It’s going on 6-7 months of chart history and it’s still at number one with that massive lead.

I can’t think of any songs that were already charting for 6+ months that had this kind of lead six months in. We are in the Long haul. It’s crazy to witness a phenomenon like this.

No joke the song is everywhere. I feel like more adults like it than kids but I’ve seen so many viral videos lately of people posting their kids dancing to “every time Despacito comes on”

I should give that Macklemore song a chance but based on the fact that it has a Skylar chorus I'm thinking it's gonna be really generic...

Talking about Despacito's success and yet again leaving out very relevant detail. Its longevity had a NASA rocket launch size boost just 11 weeks ago with the Bieber remix release. which is really where its US success began. So that 6+ months is misleading as it was in the wilderness for half that time. A tale of two versions.
