I guess each to his own. The charts IMO are much more diverse compared to then. And I think Pop stans on here moreso are romanticizing the nostalgia of Pop female stars dominating music scene, the over-the-top outfits and gimmicks, and stan wars rather than that actual quality of the music.

Only ATRL and a suburban white girls consider disposable Dr. Luke/Max Martin fodder with the same beat and arrangement topping the charts to be "iconic". I really cringe how ya'll romanticize this era. Even in through the lens of nostalgia, the early 2010s were one of the laziest, most embarrassing periods of Pop music so much that most of your faves have completely abandoned even the sounds and brands. Now, late 90s and early 2000s pop music was truly a era of quality pop. That is the only era of Pop music current Pop stars should aspire to reach again.
