Hearing "One Step Away" on the dance floor for the first time last night was life-changing. Had to leave early but hoping to hear more tracks played this weekend and beyond! This album is meant to lose yourself on the dance floor to.

Any DC-based ATRL'ers going to any Madonna parties tonight, tomorrow or this weekend? I saw that the majority of events are tomorrow night, and one for Saturday, but just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Hot Sauce is definitely a cute bop and fun. I can definitely see why it did not make the main tracklisting, but we needed at least one fun little bop for the era! For some reason, I thought it could even work as part of a mashup with Faz Gostoso if there were ever some form of performance. Similar vibes.

First time posting on this forum (though lurking for many years), and of course I had to ensure that my first post would go in this thread! Initial thoughts: I haven't had a reaction this instant (in a good way) since Renaissance, and it's because of the utter collapse that this record brought upon first listen. In my view, this is Madonna's best album since Confessions I, and I tie that to the vast experimentation that unfolds especially in the second half of the record, along with the lyricism that seems a lot less clunky than previous records, as well as the fact that the record seems like an amalgamation of elements from different records starting from Erotica and includes Bedtime Stories, ROL, Music, American Life, Confessions 1, and even MDNA. Stuart's production senses allow those elements to not sound stale and in fact tie in beautifully with more modern elements in today's production landscape. Because of these production choices, Madonna and Stuart have allowed for thrilling results in many of these new songs (esp. One Step Away, Danceteria, Everything, Love Without Words, School, Fragile) which make for such an amazing first listen. Then you have the final four songs of the record, which in my view are essential for representing the comedown from a wild night out and bring even more of a personal touch, with a mix of R&B and mid-tempo vibes that allow for us to take a breather as the album concludes. Overall: There is a reason Madonna remains the eternal Queen of Pop, and it's because at 68 years old, no one is telling her to go quietly into the night. This record demonstrates there is no stopping her when it comes to continuing to push artistic boundaries and for her to return to the dance floor on this record shows that she knows she truly shines there. What an album. Current favorites (including pre-released singles): I Feel So Free (the perfect introduction to this era and album), One Step Away, Danceteria, Everything, School, Fragile, Betrayal.
