Biotin, or vitamin B7, is essential for metabolism. The recommended daily intake is 30 mcg for adults and 35 mcg for breastfeeding women. Most people get enough from a balanced diet. Biotin supplements, often marketed for hair, skin, and nails, range widely in dosage, from 300 mcg to 25,000 mcg per serving. Higher doses are generally unnecessary unless prescribed for a deficiency. For general health, sticking to the recommended daily intake is sufficient. Always consult a healthcare provider before taking high-dose supplements. I personally do not take biotin supplements.
