Damage Control eras?
Mariah Carey's Charmbracelet is often seen as a pivotal moment in her career, a strategic move following the much-criticized Glitter era and her very public struggles. It helped to restore her image and set the stage for her triumphant comeback with The Emancipation of Mimi, one of the most iconic comebacks in music history.

Britney comments on VMAs; praises, drags and fangirls over Sabrina Carpenter
She is most definitely not okay. And again, most people here aren't pretending she's perfect or camera-ready online when it's clear she has no interest in being a celebrity anymore. All we're saying is she's not behaving normally. It's not just the way she presents herself; it's the way she speaks, the way she writes, the incoherent ramblings, the childish posts, the facebook mom stolen pictures, the weird dances, etc. Honestly, how can you say she's okay? She has definitely not resolved her trauma, and that's precisely everyone's point here. And to the other poster saying "a bunch of gays should stop psychoanalyzing her": I mean, isn't that why we're here? To discuss topics that interest us? Britney Spears, whether she wants it or not right now, is and always will be a public figure, and as a female pop singer, she will naturally be relevant to the LGBTQ+ community. Some people here should stop with the condescending attitude.

Britney comments on VMAs; praises, drags and fangirls over Sabrina Carpenter
That's precisely my point. I'm not trolling at all. I was in fact replying to @Blur who was stating this is 'normal' behavior and that Britney is just being 'punk' and 'anti-establishment.' Of course she is not, of course she has mental issues. I just can't with some posters saying we are subjecting her to this 'high standard' of PR-trained pop star perfection when all we are stating is concern about her very clear weird behavior (naturally, generated by all the very well-documented awful stuff she has endured during her life).

This 1000000000%. Totally agree.

Britney comments on VMAs; praises, drags and fangirls over Sabrina Carpenter
I understand your point about not knowing the full extent of Britney's life, but it's difficult to ignore the concerning patterns in her behavior. While she may be retired, her social media presence often raises questions about her well-being. It's important to be respectful of her privacy, but we can also express concern and hope for her recovery. Her recent behavior, from her video ramblings to her disheveled appearance and nonsensical captions, seems inconsistent with her past public persona. While many retired pop stars maintain a healthy online presence, Britney's actions raise concerns about her mental health. It's crucial to approach this situation with empathy and compassion, recognizing that she may be facing challenges that are difficult to understand from the outside. But it's a different story to act as if nothing is wrong with her when it clearly is. Just compare this interview from her first album and let me know if she isn't acting weird now. How articulate and well-spoken she was even at the start. The difference is night and day. I won't believe for a second that the stuff we see on Instagram is 'normal' Britney Spears.

Britney comments on VMAs; praises, drags and fangirls over Sabrina Carpenter
I highly doubt she was implying all that. She seems quite distressed and confused all the time. There isn't much more to say about it, honestly. People claiming she's just being her "old silly self" are mistaken. If you compare this to her articulate interviews from her prime, it's clear that something isn't quite right.

Britney Talks Sabrina at VMAs
I don't think so either…people try to play it down like "she's over the industry and being happy just twirling around, leave her be". But she's clearly not well. It's like she has devolved if you compare her to the media trained Britney giving articulate interviews during her prime.

Camila Cabello - 'C,XOXO (Magic City Edition)'
Does anyone else interpret the whole "back to Brunette"/crashing the laptop shtick as a farewell ("Godspeed") to the whole C,XOXO blond persona? I don't know, the whole thing I gave me "I'm tired of this floppy era, it's done. On to the next thing" vibes.
