She looked so shaky during most of BYL - that knee must be getting to her still. 😕 The rest of the performance was fine, watching her nail the One Step Away choreo live was glorious. I don't like that she didn't get to have a song performance by herself, or that she has to rely on guest artists so much these days. This should have been a mostly solo gig, to truly solidify the "Madonna-saince" feel... but oh, well.

One of the greatest moments of her discography and you all KNOW it's true.

Hence why my hopes weren't up. 😉

Unironically my favorite moment in the album. So haunting and evocative, you could practically imagine her stepmom's ghost twirling in the dark with her. Queen of bridges and pop, fr. 👑

Although it's a bit... hyperbolic to compare Confessions II to a 3,000-year old classic, I can't bring myself to disagree with this take. You are never bored for a single second during these two experiences. (I watched The Odyssey in IMAX last night.)

I adore it. The way it sounds almost sinister... and how the saxophone perfectly complements the malice in the lyrics. It tickles my brain in the best way.

Such a great piece of songwriting. To sing "I'll wait for your love" towards a vicious public (subliminally) and then have them take it to #1. Oh Ariana, your mind...

I just know Madonna's team has been ki-kiing at all the "wHErE is tHe prOmo" and "whERE IS the mUSIC vIDEo" breakdowns over this past month. I told y'all to let them cook.

Yup, and they ended up sounding better to me. Not saying they should import the film mixes into the album (lol) but if Bring Your Love (Afterhours Mix) could match the sound quality of the film, then I don't see why the other tracks couldn't. (Obviously, the discourse around sound quality is mostly subjective but there are aspects of music mixing that are objective. Instrument separation and dynamic range are straight up done better in the film.)

That's good, I guess - it won't ruin your experience of the album. But on headphones, the chorus of Danceteria sounds just a bit tinnier than the film version to me. The synth sounds are more buried in the mix and the bass doesn't hit as hard, idk.

The mixing on Bring Your Love (Stuart's After Hours Mix) is immaculate compared to the other tracks released so far, including the previews that were released on YouTube recently. I hate to say it (and to pile on to the endless complaints about song mixes recently 💀) but Stuart clearly isn't the problem with the muddiness on BYL (with Sabrina) and Love Sensation. And I'm not claiming that mother is to blame, either. But if you compare the sound of Good for the Soul, One Step Away, BYL, and Danceteria in the film to the previews she uploaded to YouTube, they're just so much more pristine and professional-sounding.
