When You Believe - Whitney & Mariah | Turns 25
Sadly I think the fact that the song was positive and both women actually got along well is one of the reasons it underperformed Vs the biggest hit of 1998 (The Boy Is Mine) which pitted Brandy and Monica against each other and played into their rivalry If Whitney and Mariah had beef with each other or fights during the recording/promo then the media probably would've promoted it much more

Where can we listen to Killing Me?- Normani - 'DOPAMINE'
Normani being dropped by RCA would be great for her TBH, she actually put out a solid critically acclaimed album, has a loyal fan base and would probably sell a lot of tickets touring (which is where the money is made in music) Another label would pick her up and probably get more profit because she did her "artist development" in 5H and at RCA so she could just hit the ground running with a second album. Vs them investing in some random Tiktoker who many flop after one song- Normani
That monster has probably cost her millions of dollars and years of her career momentum. It's not impossible for her to come back from but her and Dua collabing right at the height of both of their careers would have been epic- Normani - 'DOPAMINE'
Well considering that screaming tirade that went public last year and the fact he doesn't have many (any?) clients maybe he pissed off the wrong people and Normani was collateral damage- Normani
Maybe she's being diplomatic so they give her the budget and freedom to push this album. I think she has some serious potential to do well both commercially and at the Grammys but RCA needs to do their part Her reading them for filth (even if they deserve it) wouldn't be smart- Normani - 'DOPAMINE'
It's high key one of the most interesting songs on the album. She better perform the hell out of that song. If it goes in the Slow Down pile she'll have some explaining to do- Normani - 'DOPAMINE'
I wonder why Normani was iffy about it- Normani - 'DOPAMINE'
Check out her IG story she got a Times Square billboard from Spotify- 'Dopamine' debuts with 2.8m on Spotify / Day 2: 1.8m
Yeah it really tells you more about these people and their values than Normani as an artist- 'Dopamine' debuts with 2.8m on Spotify / Day 2: 1.8m
She also is doing very well on Apple Music and iTunes and is starting to get a bit of traction on TikTok with some of the album tracks- 'Dopamine' debuts with 2.8m on Spotify / Day 2: 1.8m
Well maybe Spotify shouldn't release numbers either so people can stop turning music and art into a sportโฆ The album is in the Top 6 of all albums GLOBALLY on Apple Music and #9 in the USA. In the US she's the #3 female album behind Billie and Taylor On ITunes she's #3 in the US and has charted in the top 10 in many countries Spotify (where most of their listeners are free accounts) skews heavily towards pop and country so I'm not surprised Normani hasn't done well there on day 1. There's still plenty of time though, some of the early TikTok vids are getting traction and she hasn't released the music videos- 'Dopamine' debuts with 2.8m on Spotify / Day 2: 1.8m
Why do people like you act like Apple Music doesn't exist? The album has been doing great numbers worldwide on AM and has been selling well on iTunes globally- 'Dopamine' debuts with 2.8m on Spotify / Day 2: 1.8m
- Normani
Spotify really needs to start hiding the numbers from the public because it's unhinged that people put so much importance on these ridiculous "stats" And then conveniently act like Apple Music doesn't have tens of millions of paid subscribers and skews more R&B in its demos Her album has been stably in the top 10 and some of the songs are already charting on Apple Musicโฆ- Normani - 'DOPAMINE'
I agree completely Tbh I really dont think this album is going to "flop" โ no it's not going to debut high on the charts but I think it's going to have really good legs and get her a level of respect with the types of music fans that actually buy music and have longer term cultural influence (IYKYK) vs fickle pop fans who will drop her at a moments notice- Normani

Well considering the fact that RCA made her self fund most of the Wild Side video and weren't even going to release the single until Cardi used her clout to force their hand, I think they are (much of) the problem Yes, there are a ton of free/low budget things that Normani and her team should be doing to promote but it seems like RCA is being really cheap and negligent- Normani
Isn't there still time to rise due to word of mouth and videos though? Also the album is doing well on Apple Music and iTunes, is that enough to offset weaker Spotify numbers?- Normani - 'DOPAMINE'
The album sounds noticably better with Apple Music lossless (with my wired earphones) vs on Spotify like Spotify sounds fine over speakers but it's a bit muffled and flat compared to Apple Music- Normani - 'DOPAMINE'
Can someone please explain why these types of stats matter? The album was only released in the US last night Also the album is doing great on Apple Music and iTunes and getting great reviews from the general public and critics alike So why are "Spotify partial day tracking" numbers relevant?- Normani - 'DOPAMINE'
It really is a gem of a song, very innovative blend of rock/r&b/pop that we haven't heard in a long time with the intense choreo it could be a great single. There's nothing else like it on the radio right now- Normani - 'DOPAMINE'
I noticed the album sounds much better on Apple Music with lossless sound (and wired earphones). For some reason Spotifys quality sounds a bit more muffled- Normani
Do we know how much Wild Side's streams and sales will contribute to the albums placement? - Normani
