i don't think anyone wants it to sound like confessions nor does it have to. imo ideally this album should have ended up being something completely different but here we are...

even if it doesn't, it sure doesn't sound better than confessions, rather a watered down version of it. if it reaaally sounded like confessions, i wouldn't have the low expectations i have

what else am i supposed to judge it by? did you hear the whole album? surely i'll have a new opinion or a confirmation of the existing one when the album's out, but for now... i don't agree that the two tracks are far from the first album sonically.

they're both close to dying age so the themes and sound that the cure explores seem more fitting and sincere. the stuff i heard so far from confessions ii is just... watered down stuff of what's already out in her catalogue

i'm sorry to be a downer but i can just feel this album being a letdown. just the fact that it's a redo of an existing album is telling enough. she should be doing "the cure - songs of a lost world" type albums at her current age

That the legendary Brian May from the band Queen played the guitar on this track, most prominent from the switch that happens at 2:54 and shatters your soul by the time the track is done. How it came to her to end the song on a note like this is beyond me. Her mind... ugh!

Oofta, I must be an S-tier hater or something because this did NOT click with me at all... I replayed "I Will Overcome." a couple of times, but the album as a whole is chop galore for me.

Melody-wise this is trash. No replay value, why would she do this? Instead of using Hans to achieve an orchestral ethereal sound that could make a pop song timeless, his name is just used as a gimmick and the track is a disorganized mess
