Yeah, it's like talking to a brick wall w/ Taylor's stans. They likely don't understand the gravity of growing up poor or in a system w/ laws/policies to suppress them (that still impact black people today) b/c it likely doesn't impact them. So, they have the privilege to be cavalier about generational wealth and unequal opportunities that Taylor and other rich people receive. They've convinced themselves, like a lot of rich people, that Taylor achieved things through pure hard work, talent and merit. Taylor is one of the most mediocre artists in pop history.

Rihanna is the best-selling female artist of the 21st century, NOT Taylor Swift. Period. And she's still outperforming her peers and new artists even though she hasn't released an album in nearly a decade. The Beatles, like Taylor, only have numbers b/c they're white in a society that has a preference for whiteness. Take away the numbers and they get exposed as mediocre.

Correction: Taylor is currently re-releasing more albums than Rihanna and on tour. Not sure what you mean by more upward momentum. Rihanna has long-term success and she hasn't released an album since 2016. And just like Ray Charles, I'm not going to congratulate a mediocre white band for having success in a music industry that has a preference for whiteness and was actively working to suppress black talent. The Beatles owe everything they were to Little Richard, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, and countless other black people. The Beatles get exposed as extremely mediocre if you take away the primary "impact" they have - numbers.

There's nothing impressive about a mediocre white band being popular during a time when the music industry was actively and visibly working to suppress black talent. Taylor will need to re-release a lot more albums to catch up to MJ. She hasn't even surpassed Rihanna. FraudMasters also shows Rihanna as the best-selling female of the 21st century even though they came out and tried to say otherwise.

The Beatles and Elvis are considered huge legends primarily in the white community. And that's exactly my point. How can the supposed biggest artists not have significant impact in the black community globally? This is why MJ will always be #1. The Beatles and Elvis are white mediocrity personified. As Ray Charles said: "The music wasn't that good to care about." "I know too many [black] artists far greater than Elvis."

That others haven't reached Taylor's exact level of success does not negate the fact that generational wealth is a huge advantage and grants one greater opportunities. At the end of the day, Gracie will still be rich and have opportunities much more talented black women, for example, do not have. Lack of equal opportunity is a major issue.
