  1. It literally sounds like a Billie song
  2. It's giving Billie Eilish. I'm out.
  3. This!! If you supported Taylor beforehand I don't think you have a right to be the spokesperson for this narrative. Many of us have warned the industry about this behaviour and nothing has been done. Why is billboard allowing all these variants? It's so incredibly damaging to the industry. We are going to be left with no real artists.
  4. Minus a few anomalies in recent years, music has still always been about art. Taylor Swift came up because she wanted to be a musician before anything else. Many artists believe that making a career out of your work comes second to the art. That's why they take years to perfect their work before releasing it. I think Beyoncé is a great example of a true artist that hasn't lost her vision when the cheque hits. She understands the need to curate evocative pieces of work, with revenue coming second to mind. You would think that at billionaire status Taylor would stop caring so much about the numbers and would start caring even more about the music. She has access to an infinite amount of resources. She has become lost in the money and numbers. It's time you admit this.
  5. The issue is, music has always been about art. There's a reason why many creatives in the industry despise her. She is single handedly ruining what it means to be an artist. Art and capitalism do NOT go together. The variant things are a strategic cash grab whether swifties want to deny it or not. She has been employing these fear mongering tactics since Midnights, toying with the idea that her album variants are limited and rare, dropping them one by one and strategically bypassing billboards 4 album rule. When you're a supporter of your favourite artist you innately want to collect the rarest and most saught after memorabilia. When your favourite artist in question is essentially telling you that these will be rare, you buy. Only for the variants to be readily made available elsewhere. This and the TTPD one new song per vinyl is exactly what is wrong and why so many people are upset. Obviously swifties will continue buying this junk- oblivious to the idea that those pieces of plastic, in their large quantities, will never become rare. This brings me to swifties argument that other artists also have variants. Yes they do, but they release them all together. Other artists give you a choice. Taylor plays with the psychological idea of FOMO. She is literally playing with your mental health. This is why I do not care for any of her achievements. The only valid thing I can be in awe of is her All Eras tour. All the record breaking with album sales etc really has no substance to it when you realise that only ~130K fans had to purchase every single variant (assuming there are 30 variants- there are probably more but this is the number that I keep seeing) in order for her to reach 4M album units. Now I know she also had streaming to help achieve this goal but this number just puts into perspective how only a tiny population had to actively contribute for her to reach this number. I saw a delusional post by her claiming that 4 million people had purchased her album… which is just not true. Anyways, I think Taylor Swift is slowly showing her true colours and it won't take many more album cycles for swifties to realise this. I hope anyway…
  6. so excited
  7. Stop talking about Amy and calling her friends a liar. Based on your activity in here you are a weirdo parasocial freak obsessed with everything Lana says or does. Amy Winehouse did NOT know Lana. People who were close to Amy have professed this. That should be the end of this discussion. Stop disrespecting Amy's friends for a woman that doesn't even know you exist.
  8. Just like how she lied about Amy knowing and liking her (Amy's friend came out and said it's a complete lie), she is most probably lying about what Ethel has allegedly done with her photos etc. She's just bitter and insecure. I can't deal.
  9. According to the logic in here, Lana Del Rey is influenced by Ariana Grande. End of discussion. https://youtu.be/-cHQqXAoHP0?si=xbUt7xLatUqoGlPm
  10. Yall need an education. Covering a song doesn't = being influenced. Lana covered Nina Simone back when she used to make good music. Her music sounded nothing alike. Is her work influenced by Nina Simone now?
  11. Still waiting for you to provide me evidence of Lana's influence. She doesn't want her name to be associated with Lana how does that make her a bad person? I'm not defending anyone.
  12. My factors together? Baby she was literally pretending to work at Waffle House…
  13. It literally doesn't though? Lana wasn't the first person to make sad music and she won't be the last. If you want people to believe this you should probably provide examples of 'Lana's influence'. Ethel Cain is as original as it gets imo.
  14. Lana has fallen off so badly. Cosplaying as a Waffle House worker and then singing about it is crazy when you're a rich woman. It's almost insulting to be honest. She's so out of touch with reality and clearly insecure about Ethel Cain for some reason. I don't understand what has happened to her since NFR but the music is garbage and she is a wreck. She needs to bring that Old Hollywood aesthetic back and start churning out good music again. I went to her UK tour and it was essentially a scam. Half the setlist was covers and music we haven't heard before and the other half was a hologram mess. So disappointing.
  15. I really don't see how people are saying this is her best album production wise when all the songs thus far have sounded very similar to each other
