That's exactly how I feel. She has worse albums that have been received much better (ahem, midnights). I can't help but think if someone else released this exact same album it would've been lauded. The way everyone expects her to jump genres every album is insane, I don't know why we don't want artists to stick to their genre anymore. If I wanted a different sound, I'd listen to a different artist, why's that a hot take? The only take I agree with is that it's bloated, but I'd prefer her release everything and the fans curate their favorites.

The cover and aesthetics for this look so good so far. I'm worried it'll be another bait and switch like Midnights, I was ready for a 70s vibe and got karma is a cat. I feel like her Haim - Gasoline collab would fit perfectly into this aesthetic. Hope she leans into that.
