Chappell Roan - The Giver | Spotify Day 1: #9 WW (6.27M), #3 US (3.06M)
The song is well made but it's also not for me. It just feels weird, like a lesbian sex country anthem sanitized enough to be played in a Buffalo Wild Wings or something. It just feels very pedestrian

Lady Gaga - "Abracadabra"
While Chromatica felt like a return to pop in a commercial form, this album feels like 100% fan service and I've never been more excited. The tracklist literally reads like it's from a fan-fiction era from 2011

Lady Gaga - Disease | Day 16: #111 Global (-29), 1.5M (-240K)
You type like someone that would pretend to have body shakes because they took a Covid vaccine. When did this website become overrun with Tina gays? anyways, love to see a solid green update from mother monster. Such a great song for Halloween!

Lady Gaga
Does anyone else barely listen to Gaga regularly these days but still love everything she does? That’s where I am right now with her. Her music didn’t age too well but I love everything about her and what she stands for and her talent is beyond captivating. i get my bops in here or there or put on ASIB when I wanna feel something but damn Chromatica and Joanne just do not have the staying power of her old material and the older songs I’ve burned to a crisp play wise

Best Track On Diamonds & Dancefloors?
Reading the Apple Music descriptions of the tracks and then hearing super cheap sounding 2008 pop jingles sent meeee. How is her music and image still this painfully basic? I enjoyed Maybe You’re the Problem most, but even that is probably a B-tier pop song. Sophomore slump it seems for context, I’ve only ever looked into this album after I saw it release on Twitter. I’m shocked some singles are almost a year old

Can we finally admit that Break My Soul was actually a really mediocre song?
You either can't read or are insistent on proving my point that despite her trying her best to sound wacky and like she's having fun it still comes off as guarded and calculated (which sums up the entire release). Every release post-self titled is overly self-important and devoid of genuine joy even when she's desperately growling at her listeners "have you ever had this much fun before?" Like yeah I have, have YOU?

Can we finally admit that Break My Soul was actually a really mediocre song?
Most the album is far better than BMS but the album as a whole and ESPECIALLY BMS seem devoid of any kind of fun that the album implies its meant to provide. The vocal delivery and style sounds like it takes itself too seriously even when she's saying dumb **** about her uncle johnny. It feels forced which makes sense since she's a black conservative that never once showed any kind of love to the LGBT in any kind of public way until it was profitable to do so and once told a crowd of gay men to put some bass in their voice. Albums a 7/10, song about a 5.

'SOUR' outstreaming 'Renaissance'. Why?
Because SOUR has hits and is by a Gen-Z artist and Beyonce is an established legacy artist that hasn't released a single video for the album yet. The fact it's as big as it is is an accomplishment

Anthony Fantano goes viral for being hot
This is proof that anyone can be found attractive. I get an ego boost just knowing people think he’s hot since by extension I must be considered far more attractive

Kim Petras - "All She Wants", "Hit It From The Back" + others
This entire era feels like something planned by someone managing a popstar on Music Wars Rebirth 2 down to the song names and drama

"BEYONCÉ" is aging like fine wine, why?
Probably because her latest release is a tired rehash using the exact same sounds and samples other mainstream artists have recently used successfully. Beyonce was a refreshing surprise release where she was now a MILF ready to sing about topics she never explored. Now she's growling over a beat that's been recycled ad nauseam about freeing yourself despite being a black conservative.

HDD: Final - Taylor 133k; Bey 27k; Brandy 26k; Alanis 23k
I can't imagine how mentally exhausting the acrobatics you pull off in your head must be for you to think that Beyonce surprise releasing ANOTHER visual album and flopping this hard isn't absolutely hilarious

HDD: Final - Taylor 133k; Bey 27k; Brandy 26k; Alanis 23k
How did I know that by the end of this thread it would be Gaga vs Beyonce In a Taylor thread...

HDD Final: Chromatica #2 (=)
Chromatica is doing so well! She didn't even have to do fraudulent streams, stopped ALL PROMO and has been using her platform to help the new era of civil rights. What a QUEEN I love you Lady Gaga!!!
