Honestly, "flawless" lip sync or not, that short set was head and shoulders above so many newish acts live performances right now. Nitpicking is way too common with black female artists and we need to let it go as a pop culture loving collective atp.

Tate is only 21. She can become a MPG later
She's going to be just fine. There's so much room for her to grow artistically and commercially, mind you she's doing a lot better than a lot of the established stars right now. Fast selling tour? 31 million first day Spotify streams? Debuting nearly 150k first week in the US in 2025???? Let's not be dishonest here. The girl has a strong base that will grow in time. A lot of us are using ancient formulas for a Gen Z demographic and how these kids consume music today. I'm rooting for her. RCA mess aside

She is going to be here for a long time! Her growth has been beautiful to see

Still an enjoyable, solid pop record! She's young and will definitely grow with time.

Sorry y’all but I don’t want an uptempo until April, closer to summer. Based on how sticky the snippet already is for R&B heads reacting online, this sounds like it will have longevity which is what she needs ultimately. Plus, this sound is pretty much what’s hot right now. See Snooze, Agora Hills, Made For Me… As long as Normani releases a music video and her team promotes this heavily on streaming and radio, she’s good to go. Her two new managers are not dumb and have great industry résumés with Doja, Coco, Lizzo and Troye…best believe this rollout has been thought out in great detail. Fear not!

I am very pleased with this information. All the talk in here about “core fans” please show me the market survey you all took to verify that her fanbase (as of 2024) is primarily pop? If anything pop fans are the listeners that are more open TO other genres given the artist has pop sensibilities (image etc). I also feel like a lot of us have forgotten what Wild Side did for her career and artistry. Motivation was a big moment yes but WS earned her respect and industry cred. It’s all about how she finds her lane within the genre and knows what suits her voice. Anyone who’s been paying attention to the music landscape knows that pop is a little dead right now, R&B is where it’s at with streaming/user data from trade pubs highlighting its growth each year this decade. Meanwhile if you do a little research you’ll see Pop is dipping while Country stands strong. She has star power, great taste for concepts and gorgeous tone, I believe when put in the hands of a team that wants to see her win, she will thrive. Let’s all wait and see how the Dopamine rollout goes before getting up in arms. She will do well.

Because they’re both dark skinned women? Non factor and Completely different markets in my opinion. Normani is Pop/R&B while Coco is R&B/Soul. Plus, even if they were in the same lane, it shouldn’t matter, in fact I would encourage collaborations if I were managing them both. See Scooter with Ariana and Justin for example.

I’d like to see her venture into acting at the very least if she doesn’t want to do music anymore. That screen presence and beauty cannot be wasted on Fabletics deals mama! A TV show, a horror film, an indie drama, an action flick, a marvel franchise, SOMETHING.

Why is Normani still the standard for the girls?
Delete this thread. We love her but we also have no room to speak when she doesn’t even have a full length album, you’re only getting her dragged.

Funny enough I still trust them. Just a gut feeling. According to them, “Havoc” is a confirmed album track, along with another confirmed one they teased called “Rotate” which is a dancehall song. Time will tell. What I would like to see happen is her album announcement come first, Miley style. The hype will be restored immediately

I wonder if her new creative director is Kwasi Fordjour….they follow each other on IG. edit: I say this because the only person I can think of that is visually sharp, praised by almost everyone AND just won Grammy(s) is Giselle.
