Carly's personality is way more lowkey, very much wine mom vibes which makes cultivating the kind of fanbase Charli has difficult. The quality of the material is there imo (everyone whining about her losing her touch clearly hasn't listened to The Loveliest Time), but she herself lacks that IT factor. That's not a drag btw - she clearly seems more than happy with her current level of success because she's able to tour and create music as she pleases without people being weird and invasive. Ultimately they're just very different artists finding a way to thrive in their respective lanes while remaining authentic to themselves which is really cool to see
