What else can they do? They can't count sales till they ship or fans will buy lots of copies & then refund once it's already been counted for Billboard. Keeping track of when each album was purchased isn't realistic, so spreading out the weeks sold would be way more work for no reason. It's the most sensible way to do it tbh. The production of vinyls takes a lot longer than it does for CDs and such, so thats why there's a 6 month delay.

I'm not saying its not logical cause obviously if Adele did what Taylor did she'd be growing faster. I'm saying that we can't say "what if she did this" forever if Adele/Rih and other artists choose not to release for years on end.

Adele and Rih not releasing isn't an excuse though? They chose not to release, that does have an impact on longevity and overall growth. Getting defensive when they fall behind is a bit silly cause they're the ones to blame. No disrespect to them, but the "they haven't released!" excuse is dumb

Well when she announced the album she said it was already done Obviously I know it takes longer to produce than normal but I feel like with some planning it wouldnt be hard to have them ready to ship week 1.

It makes me so grumpy that the stupid casette and vinyl arent shipping for months and months. why is it so hard to have it ready when we had preorders for months smh

My post says "about the same price" not "the same price". Maybe try actually reading what I wrote. The album was sold for 99 cents on amazon, Gaga didn't necessarily ask for it- but it contributed to her first week sales. I consider the sales legitimate and fine, I just think it's hypocritical to criticize Taylor for doing the same thing.
