UBI is inextricably tied to the elimination of social programs as it would otherwise be financially impossible. Most often it’s also financed via a VAT, which is horrendous for lower income people. I would also be cautious about the fear-mongering regarding automation and job less. We’ve certainly experienced periods similar predictions were made that ultimately didn’t pan out (1950s etc)
