There's a difference between being an actual Trump supporter and being disillusioned with both parties to the left of you (especially a party that's supposedly for working class people, but ignores some of the most dire needs of the working class). But of course it's a lot better to grasp at the straws and see expectations of Trump winning/embarrassing Biden as an example of outright support. And LOL @ you implying that the leftist movement is a fad. It's been mentioned time and time again that the left is more than just Bernie Sanders. The more you prop up these whack, mediocre candidates, the more you will see people move to the extremes. Why do you think that being condescending to voters who genuinely feel that Democrats don't do enough for the working class is something that should be considered agreeable? And on top of that, being completely hypocritical when it comes to rape accusations and holding candidates responsible. This energy being used to continue to support Biden and discredit his accusers should've been the same when Trump was being accused. But nope! We have to suck it up and vote for one basic white rapist over the other simply because he's of our party and he'll bring small incremental "changes" to create the illusion of the vast change this country actually needs! The Democratic Party needs to do better by its people. We're tired of the same old ****. Give us actual progress by way of an unproblematic candidate who actually gives a damn about the issues people are facing.

There are literal immigrant families that house more (personally have experienced 5-7 with the parents, their children, some aunts and uncles, or nieces and nephews, or even spouses. ). And guess what? They deserve to eat plenty too! Exactly. She knows better. One thing I will say about a lot of these recipes is that they're all basic, Americanized foods. Imagine me pulling up some of these recipes to my Dominican family members, who eat things that are completely different. Again, something that people would have to sacrifice that most Americans wouldn't have to. So let me condense it for you: A List of Things That Could Eat Into a Person's Income: - Student loans - A car loan - Supporting extended family members - Gas Prices - Public Transportation Passes (that often need to be refilled) - Emergency spending - Co-Payments and added healthcare costs not covered by insurance - Childcare - Investments like work uniforms, school supplies, books/textbooks, toiletries, etc. Do these things not exist at all for all Americans? Does every American household just consist of a person and their partner, living in apartments with rents lower than $900, reliable and affordable transportation, and no debt? And that can make Margherrita Pizza at home with ingredients from a ubiquitous Walmart or Trader Joe's?

You only know the cost for yourself, because you can actually take a look at your own shopping habits and daily expenses. However, you cannot assume that your habits and expenses are the same as everyone else's. There are people who do not have the average type of expenses that you and many others have to worry about. That was my point. The cost of your food at your local Walmart is NOT going to be the same in every single city across the U.S. There are literally places where there is no Walmart, or even a quality grocery store. In those situations, people will have to factor in transportation TO that quality supermarket (and by quality I do not mean organic or whatever, I'm talking about regular, generic items that are at least more substantial than what you find at a local gas station or deli) which adds to the general cost of living. That is just one example of how a variable can affect cost of living. Others include, loan payments for cars, homes, rent–which is a huge sucker of a person's income ($15 minimum wage or not) and is extremely high in major cities like New York (where there is no Walmart to buy food as cheap as it may be where you live). You said you gave a rundown of everything you and your boyfriend ate, but the rest of America's households DO NOT contain just you and your boyfriend, nor do they have the same identical essential bills, medical needs, etc. Depending on their geography, they might not have identical costs for grocery items, identical gas prices, or rent/lease rates. Remember, we need to factor in things like loans people take out on their cars (which they might NEED to get to work), tuition for post-secondary education, childcare, and food for families that they have. There are people possibly supporting other family members that are immigrants, unemployed, domestic violence survivors, felons, and the elderly who's social security is probably not enough to pay for their own place to live. I literally have a single mother who had to support many of these types of people because they were our family and we were not about to leave them out like that just because "you need to manage your money and if you don't, it's your fault!!!11!" You also have to consider emergency spending for lawyers, bailouts, medicine/treatments, disaster preparation (like we saw with the coronavirus) and other things that affect people's lives that we cannot predict. You don't have to do equations or build a list to know that the price of organic chicken can vary depending on where you live and what type of grocery stores are available to you. Furthermore, the fact that people might have to jump through hurdles and spend so much time and energy deciding between brands and grocery stores like you suggest while there's literally a class of people who don't even have to think twice about what they purchase at a grocery store already should tell you that there's a huge distinction. One in which people can afford to buy something like bread without it being so consequential, while others have to hyper-manage their essential purchases because it can determine whether or not they have enough money for gas to get to their minimum wage job. Good for you that you can manage your money and stretch your dollars. But that's your situation according to the variables that you personally have to deal with, which are not universal. Go find poor people who will actually care to fill out your equation, because I'm done with this argument.

Unless you sit down and take a look at each American’s expenses, bills, debts, income or whatever, you cannot make accurate assumptions about whether or not someone (especially poor people) is making sound financial decisions. You’re not privy to their lives like that.

Why is that one user still out here giving us a rundown of his grocery haul? Do you think those foods are available at the prices you purchased them in every single supermarket/grocery store in America? What about families who have more mouths to feed? People who need to use their leftover income for things like childcare, supporting other family members with medical issues, paying for healthcare, etc Like how myopic does your perspective have to be to think that every single American’s situation is the same and that just because you succeed at buying hamburger ingredients for dinner makes you smarter and successful at managing your money than everyone else? F off.

But how is Biden someone that'll be open minded enough to push a progressive agenda? Keep in mind that a progressive agenda entails swift action on climate change, reducing the cost of living for poor people, no imperialistic actions abroad etc. It's more than putting back old Obama policies. You have to go much further than that.

Some of you people really sound like psychopaths. People's lives are really on the line here. Bernie was literally the only candidate that really gave a **** about people and made an effort to prove it and the only thing that everyone has to talk about is how some of his supporters behave?

That's really the tea. People with the room to live comfortably and with so much financial flexibility tend to have a point-of-view that their experience is average and attainable, when it's not true. And that can be said for people with all types of privileges.

$15 minimum wage is not enough for you to be a single, healthy adult with your own place to live in certain parts of the U.S. You have to consider that the cost of living is not the same in every single city in America, and the same goes for the quality of life. There are millions of people in urban areas like NYC, San Fran, and LA earning wages that mostly go to extremely high rent, then the rest are left for groceries and things like loans and regular bills (ones that are more essential than Netflix). In the end, it may be difficult for people to actually make savings. Managing money is a great skill to have, but even those that are very good at it have to make sacrifices by downgrading the quality of their diet, living with multiple roommates or staying with family, moving a distance away from work, etc. These are inconveniences that really fuel the resentment people have for the current system because these things that are considerably affordable for some people, are actually quite difficult to attain for many without financial help or the political/social apparatus to make it realistic.

Actually, no. In places like New York City (where I live) it's the most affordable type of apartment you can rent out because it has the least square footage and rooms. Are you confusing a studio for a giant loft with no walls?

Not that I know about the cost of living in Arizona, but that argument isn't about having a wage that'll allow for people to live in whatever apartment that they want. It's about having a wage to live in the most affordable place that there is. You sound a little out of touch here.
