  1. Can we at least expect any pop girls on this album? Or when can we expect to hear more about the future releases?
  2. I was thinking the exact same thing!! The chorus and the instrumental breakdown that follows is so Wrong Feels So Right, but like a more contemporary version
  3. Diver is so mesmerizing and I love it. I feel like if they added more throbbing synths, it could have been a sister to Warm Blood
  4. Day Trinity: Habits of Creatures / Burning Heart / Lonely Side of the Bed Honourable Mention: Versailles Night Trinity: Amalfi Coast / Patience Power Passion / No Labels, I Love You Honourable Mention: Diver After listening to the album for like 6 hours now, I think I can say that this would be my tentative ranking. Overall, I do agree with the general consensus that Day is a stronger project, but that's not to say that Night doesn't have its moments to shine. There's definitely lots of songs to go back to and it's impossible to capture every detail, but this has been such an incredible album and I would say it's one of her best works - not that she's capable of releasing a bad album
  5. The outro to Good Fine Alright. Oh wow
  6. NMECarly Rae Jepsen – 'Day And Night' review: a blissful alb...On double album 'Day And Night', Carly Rae Jepsen splits her time between lightly psychedelic pop and reassuringly classy club bangers.3.5/5 from NME. Mind you, they gave Emotion 3/5 while giving both TLT and Dedicated 4/5 I feel like critics like her enough, but they're not yet at the level of wanting to give her critical acclaim which is so criminal to me. Not that it matters ultimately, but our girl deserves a universally acclaimed album.
  7. But you gave Travis/Taylor the benefit of the doubt recently by claiming their praise for an Israeli restaurant doesn't necessarily make them zionists, yet you're always adamant that Gaga is one - you love to play a guilty by association game only to those you clearly dislike OT: Congrats Gaga!
  8. Yet conveniently, you somehow hold a lot of passes for other celebrities like Taylor or Beyoncé by constantly giving them the benefit of the doubt for their questionable antics while constantly finding a way to antagonize Gaga in every effort. If you're going to pretend to be a moral compass, at least keep it consistent for everyone.
  9. For some reason, she doesn't seem to embrace anything pre-Emotion nowadays. She could have done more for Kiss' 10th year anniversary but she (or her label) just chose to release a vinyl and call it a day. At minimum, she could have made Melt With You available on streaming globally and perhaps even added some unreleased tracks but she didn't I speculate it was more of the label's decision to scrap Curiosity (album) in favour of the Kiss album as it was more electropop which was the trend at the time. They certainly rush released This Kiss and Good Time to capitalize on the CMM hype. I do wonder too if there were some tracks that were reworked, but knowing Carly, she probably did. Like Sun on You's leaked demo was very electropop, but I think she revealed that this was intended to be for Curiosity, but ultimately it didn't even make the cut for Kiss. If I recall, I think there's even a demo that's more acoustic which probably fits into Curiosity's sound. She was probably forced to work with other people in fleshing out the rest of Kiss. I think she ended up meeting Matthew Koma and they briefly dated as a result of these writing sessions for Kiss. I also remember that even when she was writing for Kiss, she was also already writing for her follow up album that was also supposed to be electropop, but that ended up getting scrapped too, along with that experimental album she worked with Tegan and Sara until we finally got Emotion.
  10. Kiss is still a career highlight and I won't hear otherwise. The fact she created these songs under such a tight schedule and she gave us masterpieces like Tiny Little Bows, This Kiss, Your Heart is a Muscle, Turn Me Up and Wrong Feels So Right. She's a pop genius tbh But I can totally relate though, I remember listening to the extended iTunes previews for the album pre-release and just listening to them while I was working on my assignments. She had me hooked OT: I would love for her to do a dual release and throw in Amalfi Coast for next Friday so we have Versailles as a day single and Amalfi as a night single
  11. Don't be discouraged king, I will always support your Dedication.mp3 to Carly's bubblegum pop gems In all seriousness, there's nothing wrong with liking specific genres/eras that Carly explored. I'm happy that she's exploring new sounds, but for those who loved her pre-Emotion, it was her ability to craft effortless pop bops that made us fall in love with her to begin with.
  12. The outro of Sweet Delusion. Her mind
  13. The Versailles clip sounds so good, it reminds me so much of Curiosity-era Carly and I'm living I wonder if Lonely Side of the Bed is just reworked Europe?
  14. Her voice with synths is just another level As much as I love this, I'm still holding out for Amalfi Coast. I just know that will scalp me.
  15. It seems like a recurring pattern where when she reaches mainstream appeal, she does a complete 180. (Sucker -> Vroom Vroom then BRAT -> MFF) Having said that, I feel like I'm still processing how to feel about this as it's certainly different from what she's done before, but this is so rough on the edges that it borderline feels incomplete. Even if this project isn't for me, I know she will always bounce back as she always has, and I'll still give her props for showcasing her versatility as an artist.
  16. Just snatched lower bowl tickets for TO. Her first solo arena tour in Canada, I'm so excited
  17. Ks_dollar and his threads of the most random things. His avi of that lady holding that plastic plate with food was iconic
  18. I just had a trip this earlier this year and here's a few recommendations: Not sure how long you're going to be in Shanghai, but I would recommend doing the Shanghai Tower, it's the third tallest building in the world and the views are pretty remarkable If you do the Mutianyu, I would recommend going there early. I took a DiDi at like 6 AM from my hotel in Beijing and I was able to be at the top overlook to myself for like 15 minutes. Some DiDi drivers may even offer to wait for you until you finish exploring as it can be hard to get a cab in that area. (It's like a 1 hour drive from central Beijing) I don't think you have to worry about being LGBT in the major cities. I saw same-sex couples doing photoshoots and they were fine. The major cities in China have younger people that are more liberal and open-minded. The photographers you mentioned are pretty convenient as you can just pay them using AliPay For food, make sure to at least try Peking duck in Beijing and Xiao Long Bao in Shanghai. I would also get the Dianping app which is basically like their Yelp which allows locals to post about food spots, if you're really particular about wanting to avoid touristy food spots. For your E-sim, I used one from Airalao and I had no issues whatsoever Anyways, happy to answer more questions if you have any
  19. Ready for her WOR$T GIRL IN $COTLAND serve
  20. Give us the original Woohoo and Run Devil Run please
  21. The way she speaks about Michael, she's so in love It's so refreshing to see her happy and thriving
  22. As previously mentioned, Charli has followed Taylor for the longest time on Instagram. I'm pretty sure if Charli did actually unfollow Taylor, it would have made news, especially when SIAK came out.
  23. Feeling so lucky that she played Marry The Night on piano for Toronto's opening night She closed off with The Dead Dance - was expecting something else as she played it for NY last Sunday, but I guess she's dead set on promoting it right now
