Taylor Swift - 'The Life of a Showgirl'
One day I want her to work with Helado Negro, I feel like it'll be another lightning in a bottle moment in her discography. Maybe for TS15

Father Figure is the dark horse of the album, might just be my favorite

I wish the production on Cancelled was used on a better song that that. cancelled actually romantic eldest daughter (sigh) honey are my skips - they should have been replaced by certified max martin bangers. I'm surprised I don't like honey since I'm a big fan of when she dips into "r&b" ish territory. False God is my favorite Lover song and Glitch is one of my favorite 3am tracks. But outside of the "but you touch my face…" part Honey gives nothing.

The first four songs are career highlights… but there are 4 skips for me and in a 12 track album that does feel like too much. Nonetheless the bops are bops

Taylor Swift - 'The Life of a Showgirl'
Okay after a few listens I'm happy this album exists, some really interesting topics being discussed. The only thing is that across 12 tracks there are a few chops so it feels extra short once I skip the ones I can't bring myself to enjoy. Eldest Daughter was a disappointment and although the production is cool, the lyrical content of Cancelled is so dumb lol. I do like the melody of the chorus, it reminds me of Yellow Flicker Beat by Lorde. but the bops Opalite is a smash smash smash (the ooh ooh oohs!!). Wood is the biggest surprise to me! Insanely catchy and sweet. So Jackson 5. Wish List is surprisingly beautiful too. Ophelia is so so good, it's giving me Froot era Marina. At first I was disappointed that Father Figure was nothing like the George Michael song but it grew on me and the lyrics really could cut glass. Overall I will have so many of these songs on repeat

I hope her fashion this era is a step up from her previous eras. Love a pop era with high fashion looks and editorial shoots

Taylor Swift - 'The Life of a Showgirl'
I'm looking forward to the ad libs on this album, Max and Shellback bring that out of her the best. Blank space, DBM, DWOHT are all good examples

Why don't we choose an alternative cover for every album from the album photoshoots to make time pass 🤭

Taylor Swift - 'The Life of a Showgirl'
Wait what is going on? Honestly idk why but it's my favorite of hers, it speaks to something I feel deeply when it comes to loving someone for a long time. She's my baby and I'm so happy she's getting time to shine but it's so random. Any one know why? edit: oh wait I see, summer it turns pretty. Glad it's resonating

Taylor Swift - ‘Midnights’
I really just need Just South of Knowing Why, Dark Blue Tennessee, Need You Now and This is Really Happening. Hopefully they’ll be on the debut. She has so many strong songs that didn’t make it then

20 great female vocalists - your favorites?
Jazmine Sullivan is missing from this list 🤭

The chorus harmonies on this album are so good, if y’all haven’t done so do yourselves the favor and listen to the Dolby atmos stems, paints a fuller picture of this album and all its hidden vocal treasures. She’s learned to perfect little details in her vocals over the years in many ways that her early music didn’t have (not that it always needed it).

Also Maroon sounds like a big 80s ballad moment, could see it smashing as a single too

Taylor Swift - ‘Midnights’
Lavender Haze is like just as much lead single material as Anti Hero for different reasons. It sounds like Janet-esque, seductive, a big dance pop diva moment that she doesn’t really have in her discog (I’d love more of these), it’s universal and that killer chorus melody (and harmonies 😮💨) I can see it not doing well simply because it already has so many streams but it would be nice for radio to play it at least. Midnight Rain could be her WBT. Seems like the GP has chosen the singles (Karma too) all classics tbh (yoko ono as single five) also BTTWS sounds like it would have slayed in the 90s when ballads were huge.

Let other people get their weeks lmao y’all are so vicariously competitive, she’s not the only musician to exist and to deserve success
