Almost forgot, happy anniversary to The Slip! It turned 17 years today. This album was recorded over a 3 week period, and described by Trent as "garage electronics". I would say it's among their more accessible releases.

My favorite songs are 1,000,000, Discipline and Echoplex. Has anyone else listened to this album, and if so, your favorite songs?

Big Come Down: One of my favorites on The Fragile. There's just so much I love about this one, especially the moody soundscape

All Time Low: If you're a Killah lover, you might dig this. Mostly electronic/not very industrial with Bowie-esque guitar, funky and cool throughout

Honorable mention: Happiness in Slavery. Has an unexpected funky chorus that demands you to bob your head

On this day, 19 years ago, the song The Perfect Drug was released for the Lost Highway soundtrack. The iconic music video was directed by Mark Romanek, and totally gives Mayhem vibes! I was hoping for a video like this from Gaga lol

Today i want to feature some of NIN's more poppy/catchy songs. NIN is often regarded as an industrial band, but the fact is, Trent hasn't put out an entirely industrial record since the 90s. NIN acts more as a gateway into the genre, and is more consistently alternative/electronic rock with some industrial influences. Some of his biggest inspirations were pop musicians, like Bowie and Prince. Most of NIN's song structures are pop structured, with your typical verse, pre chorus, chorus, post chorus, bridge, song structure, and has a lot of catchy melodies and hooks. Today I want to showcase that NIN isn't an intimidating band to get into!

Here are some really catchy NIN songs!

The Hand That Feeds - has an amazing breakdown/bridge that's super electronic and dancey. A top 3 NIN song for me

Shadow Over Me - my favorite new NIN song in over ten years! It comes from the Tron Soundtrack. If you loved the Requiem version of Die With a Smile, chances are you'll love this soundtrack, featuring vocoder vocals and a retro synth sound.

God Given - one of my favorites from the album Year Zero. Really catchy with a lot of glitchy production, and there's a mashup with Sexy Back that's fun lmao
