i've known about the lengths for weeks too, spotify released the timestamps with pre-save on album annoucement day. i love when songs make it over the 3-minute mark, but sometimes it's obvious they've gone to exhaustive efforts to pad it out 30-45s longer, and it actually takes away from it…

release week 💜💚 i got my vinyl yesterday (it seems creature - record label - germany registered the vinyl release a week early on *a website* that had two copies ready to ship…) rends-moi ma vie and mon copain are really something. des bêtises part ii is the needed extension for song of the year (part i). the vinyl also has an extended intro and outro for comme jean reno. hoping the CD will have this too. the sonic lovechild of an erasure and bronski beat album.

(i'm afraid) dulcimers is entirely instrumental too, though 5+ minutes. it's very high energy. des bêtises part ii is almost entirely instrumental, except for a few lines at the beginning. i looooove it, it's "pitched up" and so fun. rends-moi ma vie and mon copain make up for the lack of words in the remaining album tracks. rmmv is SUCH an opener, definitely my favourite of the unreleased, though we know track 1 is usually reserved for the most special part of any project.

she's confidently an EP 🤣, but a great one.

i'll take that over an album with fillers, any day x

Mon copain is so good 

It's a really strong album EP, Meryl Streep libre is the only dud honestly.

 

The production is excellent

What I love is that she dares to break the rules! It's a bold record, though I'm not convinced it will actually win her a new audience (quite the opposite, maybe… ) I hope she'll pack out her tour.
