It's such a fascinating song. Going hard rock in the verses and then the chorus just transforms into this ABBA-esque synth-pop anthem. I'm loving the contrast but I can see why it's off putting for some. 

Also I find the lyrics fascinating because they seem their most… Pop driven yet? Barely any satanic or biblical references and most of the lyrics wouldn't be out of place on a pop girl record. It's an interesting move for sure and probably shows their intention to expand their fan base (and why not? It has worked for them so far).

i get the feeling that tobias is over the whole satan thing. in an interview he said this album focuses mostly on healing and introspection. i absolutely adore the new songs but i do feel a sense of loss in that regard. i loved the satanic stuff

 

Lachryma is INCREDIBLE though. the song is so good and perpetua looks so good he looks evil and grotesque

also finally seeing a papa emote is insane to me

I love the evolution and progress. Tobias truly can do no wrong, his melodic sense is inredible.

i just bought myself a ticket for the tour. i got the annointed VIP package hopefully that will secure me a place close to the barricade

 

i have to fly to another country for it so the ticket, flights and hotel cost me about 900€ but i'll probably also buy merch and stuff so all in all 1k€

I think Lachryma will end up one of their all time best tracks. It already feels like a classic to me  

 

They released Peacefield as a third single before the album drops on friday

 

This song is sooooo good, i recommend listening to the spotify version, theres a choir part at the start

 

Skeleta might be shaping up to be my favorite Ghost album omg

It's also the album opener which feels like such an important track to give up before release day

i agree, i'm actually suprised they released peacefield. some people think its because it was leaking because of the live perfomances

 

according to tobias peacefield is very different and a lot lighter than the rest of the album so it might not give too much away.

 

satanized + lachryma + peacefield are all 100000/10 for me, this album is shaping up to be my new fav ghost album

I think this is going to be a favourite for me too. It's their first release I'll have been following as it comes out. But I sense it's going to have the replay value of Meliora.

 

I just hope the album tracks can hold up with the peaks of all the singles

They came for blood this era, everything is a solid 10/10

This is the first one i'm following super closely. I became a fan shortly after prequelle was released so I was there for Impera but while I love the album, the themes and album weren't IT for me if that makes sense.

 

I've been listening a lot to Meliora lately and I feel like spiritually/musically Skeleta is a continuation of Meliora. I have faith they will deliver and this album will be my favorite, same as Papa V is shaping up to be my favorite Papa.

 

Anways i'm super hyped for Umbra and Cenotaph
