After so many attempts , pr moves and her working again with dr puck , it's obvious that her new lead single didn't perform as well as her and obviously her label wished from it , should katy just accept the fact that she is a throwback act from the 2010s and embrace the fact that she gave one of the biggest pop albums in history of music and stop trying to recreate that success, thoughts ?

I was gonna say she should stop aiming for pop domination and simply make good music for her fanbase and be a "cult" artist.

 

But after her last 3 albums, I genuinely think she lacks the artistic taste to pull that off. Katy Perry without hits is like a train off its tracks.

She should consider doing a Christmas album. Both her Christmas songs are bops and her campy aesthetic would go well with Christmas. It is an easy check. 

She needs to go back to the pop/rock sound of OOTB tbh

She should focus on making an album that sounds good but modern. She doesn't need to be doing Firework 50 times

All she needs is a "Folklore" moment. A singer-songwriter album would allow people to take her seriously again. Get her on stage with a guitar and a microphone. 

 

Stop chasing hits. Let the hits come to you.
