Just saw TS London session mv and yeah she was definitely teasing more red dark era, she changed the aesthetic completely, would love an actual dark era from her! It had a lot of potential…..

Honestly, nothing in this era makes sense (aesthetically) lmao because she has the album name since 2021 and none of the psychedelic and kaleidoscopic aesthetics, butterflies and dark colors match with the title. :deadbanana2:

What if the looks/visuals/(performances) get gradually more "positive" with the campaign unfolding? Ending in radical positivity?
She has been talking about chronology a lot and how it all starts with Houdini.

It's the first time I read about this Houdini wanting to fight a shark thing, I guess everything makes more sense now.

people saw the sea and the shark and deduced that the album has a beachy aesthetic

there is no beach at all :michael:

i think houdini is the beginning of the story, with training season being the "dive" into chaos

the rest of the tracklist is underwater

So Europe would wait until late spring/summer 2025, it's a bit too late and too early for her to do stadium

US can choke yeah, but there's no doubt she'll tour there or she'll become the next Kylie and I'm sure her team don't want it to happen.

Oceania and Asia could be later in 2025 with some selected arenas as you said.

LATAM is one of her biggest market and she's very well known there, so she should tour just later this year to get her name out and vivid.

I think she can easily do the same venues as The Weeknd in Europe (bigger than arenas but not as big as the Football stadiums, maybe Paris and London) and definitely stadiums in Latin America. :hippo:

I think people are confusing 'happiness' with 'optimism'

definition of optimism: "hopefulness and confidence about the future or the successful outcome of something."

so just because the visuals are dark doesn't mean she's not being optimistic through the darkness...

Do you guys have the critical thinking skills of a 9 year old?

She has said the theme of this era is: being at peace in the most chaotic times.

The confusion is coming from people thinking psychedelia, 🌀, dark, punk, red, etc. are the themes of the album. They are not. All these elements are related to psychedelia or Britpop or trip-pop. To Dua, these three genres represent the theme of this album, so she is borrowing elements from those genres, both visually and sonically.

Houdini is about enjoying yourself and hooking up and having fun. Training Season is about refocusing your expectations amidst a messy dating scene to find someone meaningful.

The album cover/visuals are her swimming and relaxing while there are sharks around her.

Dua believes Britpop is about being dark and grunge on the surface/visually, while the songs themselves are hopeful and optimistic, which is why she's borrowing elements of it. Same for psychedelia and trip-hop - she feels these genres demonstrate optimism even if sonically they might not seem like they do.

The Training Season video is literally just her trying to have a cup of tea while men go crazy around her.

Everything this era has remained consistent with the theme.

The ROLLOUT has been a mess, but she has now made it clear what this era is supposed to represent and has been consistent with that.

The way people are still not over the aesthetic change nnn. It seems like a management fault. If Ben was still her manager, he would have made sure to ease us into the "optimism" with some sort of teaser or monologue video like the one she dropped at the same time way before announcing the album.

I agree that Houdini/Training Season have a "darker" vibe to them that doesn't necessarily match the album cover when you first look at it, but that doesn't say anything. I think it will all make sense when we hear the album. And the artwork itself isn't really giving me "summer holiday & beachy vibes album" tbh. The Warner press release kind of suggests that the tone of the album will shift towards "optimism and happiness" as we approach the end of the album. Houdini and Training Season are wonder the 2nd/3rd tracks so I wonder if the next single will have a "brighter" aesthetic. :lakitu:

And btw this was the Ray of Light lead single. Gays in 1998 were probably having a similar conversation but the song and video perfectly match the album eventually.

This is what I agree with the most, we can acknowledge that this roll-out sucks in comparison to FN, there's no way around that statement anymore, BUT that being said, I genuinely believe that the fan-artist communication sucked mainly due to her switching management, however, I don't find the aesthetic to be as confounding as everybody makes it out to be??? Weve only listened to two songs, so why is everybody acting like this???

Just saw TS London session mv and yeah she was definitely teasing more red dark era, she changed the aesthetic completely, would love an actual dark era from her! It had a lot of potential…..

Or… she had a dark aesthetic for the era’s winter launch and as we approach spring (the album launch) and summer the aesthetics get gradually lighter

My thoughts exactly. I wonder what happened?

I find it funny we are still taking about aesthetic. If you had no knowledge of the FN era, do people really feel on first sight that the DSN and Physical single covers, video's and stage design during performances were the perfect preparation for the FN album cover and rest of the era?

The FN era also started out more dark and slowly built to more. The only reason it probably felt more natural to people is because she was everywhere. And since it was covid a lot of time was spent on era building, extra videos and other stuff.

this era is promo wise more on the backburner and the dark red and blue are complete opposites and that is the only reason people are not getting it, since they are very superficial. It all makes sense if you all put it together but you all just want it spoonfed

well technically, they have yet to lighten up since were literally still in the midst of ts release, she just released the London session, but yeah hopefully the next single or promo single will enlighten us all, I truly do believe in Dua because shes always had an artistic vision
