They wanted to make TS the lead, obviously they have no clue :skull:

If any of the non-singles we released as a single instead of the 3 we have and  performed poorly the stans would be bashing the song and saying the same thing

It really doesn't matter which song is the single if it underperforms you all will hate it and we will never hear the end of it

Houdini did good and I don't care for it

i kinda get the sentiment, nobodys been really head over heals for the album, I feel like the initial reactions to fn were far more positive, not that there's been any negative opinions but they have kinda been... lukewarm? which some might claim is worse than people hating it because a divisive album usually has something going for it, a lukewarm album is just kinda there...

Hmmm the only lukewarm reception I've seen is the one from the user who posted their impressions in this thread today and they basically rated the songs based on how well they would perform commercially as singles. Other than that, impressions have been very good?

also, let's not forget that a LOT of the praise that FN received came from the fact that it simply surprised people. No one saw the jump from self-titled to FN coming, so that gave it a huge boost:)

This. It surprised everyone and it suddendly set the standard so high, we will always have a bias for it and rightfully so

That doesn't change the fact we're likely getting another amazing album in a few days

I might be in the minority here who prefers the first 3 RO singles so far over the first 3 FN singles. Houdini and Illusion are immediate hits for me. I was never too keen on Don't Start Now or Physical, though I did love Break My Heart.

Houdini did great

It didn't feel like a lead cause of Dance The Night but its STILL relevant almost 6 months later.  Can say the same about Lovin On Me for example

I am sorry if I made it seem like I don't love this album cause I really do, guys. I am just not willing to place it above FN for now because I need time digesting it etc, doesn't mean it's not an incredible album.

Right now this is my ranking:

falling forever
end of an era
houdini

whatcha doing
training season
these walls
illusion
anything for love
maria
french exit
happy for you

To me these three singles have had more replay value and I can see them ageing better. I'm so excited for the album, I don't have a CD player, nor a car at the moment but I might snatch a physical copy to support queen, she deserves it

I need Dua to open this years VMAS :duca:

Opening slot is never as good as people think. It's the middle of the show that has the most impact.

I agree but also at the same time is always a bigger performances that open the show  after the way she open Grammys & Brits this year or even MTV EMAS with Dont Satrt Now I will love Dua to open the VMAS..... If not Im happy she finally gets to perform at the VMAS

Training Season, so far has the best mainstream appeal out of the 3 singles, a few tweaks with intro (Grammys) and bridge (Brits) would've done wonders for this song alongside the original mv. They chose the most boring, flat, laid back version for official release….:gaycat6:
