What a song. 

This song is cool, but I think she had done too much damaged to her carreer at that point. 

 

I think by that single she had already changed her name, become a priest, outed herself as a lesbian than went to the closet again.

 

I always find it funny when peolle say her career ended cause of SNL. She was always more of an alternative act and even after the SNL she kept working in the US, she kept promoting her albums on TV but her choice of simgles were all so non commercial.

 

This is her first commercial songs in years by that point. When was that? 99? 2000?

 

Its like "what about me being me", a great album but she took 300 years to do it and then did nothing more. Her "subceleb" stuff on the media was always her main work. Trying to find a boyfriend on tv lol

 

She was termenally attention seeking while not able to deal with fame. Terrible combination.

 

She was also talented as hell and it is said she couldnt focus on that.
