DL is solid if you LOVE pop but it's essentially a fairly generic, character-lacking pop album. FN is genre-fluid, characterized, and one of the most influential albums of the 2020s so far. popularmoonlight Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 I really loved the snippet. Very Tame Impala-esque, which I really live for. Give us your mainstream Currents queen
needs Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 This sounds like a smasha. She always delivers with her leads.
Tistotal Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 It kind of sounds better than DSN (if it's possible) 2

Bencharmer Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 I remember when she said "the album isn't disco" some months ago, someone on ATLR posted like "so it's going to be synthpop".... A visionary leader

I just cannot take seriously anyone saying all her songs sound the same, they HAVE to be trolling. Her first two albums sound completely different, just because she stays in the overall genre of "pop" doesn't mean her songs sound the same. Even many songs on Future Nostalgia alone sound pretty different from each other 3

_Fey Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Just listened to the snippet for the first time since she released it and the way her voice is layered omfg she sounds SO good and unlike how we've ever heard her voice sound before. This would also sound super out of place on FN. If anything, it feels like a natural progression from FN.
ahauntingnearu Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 The reality is she hasn't released 2 songs that sound any more than "slightly similar" to each other. She never repeats herself much at all
