I was randomly re-discovering this bop a few days ago. I always thought it was a decent hit, but it barely charted on the Hot 100. DEV and Enrique were pretty popular back then, so what went wrong?

 

Such a bop. Personally I don't like Enrique's parts but if he wasn't on the song maybe it'd flop even harder.

Wait I forgot about this song, I loved it back in the day

One of DEV's songs "Like a G6" with Far East Movement is a number one chart topping bop.

 

Enrique Iglesias got a lot of catchy dance-pop songs and Enrique was the OG Bruno Mars.

Dev's tracks were she the lead didn't exactly do well so she wasn't exactly in a good place chart wise. I first assumed getting Enrique who was enjoying some good faith from the success of the Euphoria era to feature was an attempt to get radio onside but then they released two different version to radio. I didn't live in the US at the time but I remember hearing people complain they were pushing the version with T-Pain more.

 

 

It must have impressed Enrique though as he chose the Cataracs to produce the majority of the English tracks on his next album during the time Redone was done working with mainstream artists. I liked some of the tracks they did together a lot (ironically none of the singles) but I wish we'd have gotten something that sounded more Naked with Dev.
