I like this song, but it sadly killed all the momentum in what was supposed to be her comeback era. 

No. I was expecting All I Have

It was the worst follow up to Get Right and second single of Rebirth. Should’ve picked Whatever You Wanna Do as a single instead as it’s in the same vain as Get Right.

 

 

With Hold You Down, they were clearly trying for another Billboard Hot 100 #1 like All I Have but it just didn’t have that same pull.

 

That being said, I think Hold You Down has aged very well and I really enjoy the song today. Back in time, I didn’t and resented it for killing the Rebirth era. But it’s a good song!
