If you are attractive then attaching a pic of yourself might actually do wonders. Obvi not a nude but a pic so they have a visual to your message. 

 

Now I wish that back when I lived in a WG the applicants would have sent pics of themselves. It was many times so frustrating to read so many great things in their messages only for some overweight stinky uglees to show up during the interviews
