I find Selena Gomez very basic and safe but the way this song feels like the most experimental and risky thing she has done in her career + she serving uniqueness, personality and quirky but carefree lyrics… one of the fews song where I feel like she’s enjoying singing it… a SEXY CAMP BIRTHDAY classic and invented moaning

Yeah this was a moment. It's like if Gwen was still making good pop songs past 2008. The production goes off. I lowkey wish Stars Dance had been more in a hip-hop vein, the EDM songs didn't age well but the ones with more hip-hop inflections (namely this and Stars Dance) have aged well.

 

That video fit slotted into the Tumblr/Spring Breakers era well too.

Yeah… stars dance is maybe her most interesting album sonically tbh also you forgot to name BEAT that has a very interesting trappy hip hop vibe
