There were a lot of performers missing for Hip Hop but I'm glad they lifted the Chief Keef ban.

Hey Y'all!

Looks like we're ditching Twitter for the minority/black-owned 'Spill App' 👀 is anyone else joining or currently a member? I'm looking for an invite code.

We are overdue for a groundbreaking Black artist, Playboi Carti was close, Travis Scott has a possibility, but we need another Kanye/Prince/Miles/Alice/Billie Etc,. Kelela & Erika de Casier are great artists, but to really get into that groundbreaking territory it would have to be a mainstream act coming with a new soundimo.

As far as Rap is concerned, somebody has to save us from the tired ass ATL Trap scene. It had it's run, no offense to anyone here but it's been too long. It's tired! We need something FRESH. I listen to plenty of underground rap, but I think it's weird to completely ignore how the mainstream sounds, and its not good imo.

R&B barely has a pulse on it too, and the production is so basic idk. idk how we can listen to Isley Bros or Minnie Riperton and then listen to ******* Tone Sith and think that's acceptable lmfao :jonny:I'm not trying to be mean to these newer artist but gotdamn, it's stale man! Mariah the Scientist has an insane pen for lyricism but her production and melodies be wack, these artists need to open up to co-writing and co-producing with a veteran. They simply need stronger material imo.

The R&B and Rap twitter communities are so annoying when this is all brought up, there's R&B/Rap I enjoy coming out but we should be more critical lmfao. I've said it before I'm not a Beyonce fan however, she is peerless rn. Well written songs, strong vocal performances (Virgo's Groove), production is on point, actually creating and album experience, doesn't sound like she's dying after singing for 20 seconds, etc,. :rip: I'm more excited for a potential D'Angelo, Maxwell, Erykah album than any newbies and that's weird considering I'm constantly listening to new acts... the albums are just average most of the time. I'm getting frustrated fr lmfao as someone who is constantly searching and nothing substantial is popping up. I'm seated for a new SiR album tho!!

Like this is actually pretty good, but he needs to branch out to get BETTER imo!!

Cleo Sol is also pretty good, Mother was a dope album.

I'm not trying to rag on newbies too much, i understand why they're anti industry or whatever, trying to be Prince-lite or something but it's not working for y'all. You're not making timeless music.

Facts we need a new Black female AND male artist in R&B / Hip Hop. They gotta be multi talented, passionate about they work, and hungry for stardom.

Thats no disrespect to the current gen or up and coming names, but its like no one wants to be star anymore. Its very much they have a cute TikTok moment then fade OR get famous and go into this indie/unlikeable phase and chose not to be commercial – granted the industry plays a role but damn.

One thing I noticed esp in the R&B world. No one makes ballads anymore. A good R&B ballad used to showcase vocals, emotions, charisma, and etc. A lot of R&B artists either do trapsoul, mimic classics or overused sampling, or being too similar (modeling their work) to someone whose already made a name for themselves.
