Pete SAYS he’s not thinking about running for the Senate (for now), but I don’t think he’s really trustworthy in that regard. For one, a Senate race victory could elevate his credibility as Gay Obama that he wants so badly.

 

i dunno. I think he wins the primary pretty easily with his name-recognition putting him over the top with white suburban women. He’d have to be extremely worried about the black people of Detroit and Flint who’ve been screwed over by his exact breed of politician many times for decades upon decades, though.

Who is everyone? How many people from the Netherlands are trying to immigrate into the United States via asylum? Is “everyone” just the people fleeing oppressive regimes put in place by the United States’ failed foreign policy? If so, then those people have a right to claim asylum.

Depends how “left” we’re talking. Anything that’s not a communist utopia is controversial to the far left.

 

But to regular, sane liberals it’s because strict immigration laws cause these border issues, which result in both humanitarian crises and political backlash. If the US had a more permissive and accessible immigration system, like 80% of the traffic at the border could go through legal channels.

This is what every anti-immigrant politician says. This is what Trump said to justify locking children in cages and it’s what Biden is now saying to justify expanding Trump’s disastrous immigration policies that only made the situation worse for everyone.

Hello @Gaia please address this, thank you! Wny are you criticizing criticsms to new immigration laws when said laws are doing the very thing you complained of?

 

Are you even aware of the new rules that effectively ban asylum if you cross the border on the ground?

 

What income of people do you think is more likely to afford a plane ticket to the US?

I would like everyone who finds it easy to enter the US to have their papers revoked and sent overseas to all these countries of complaints and made to go through the system in the same economic state that immigrants do. We should start a program like that, it truly would be educational.
