It was basically ten straight minutes of pure theater-kid insanity. Anyone who didn't have a big silly smile on their face after that did not deserve to be watching the Tonys at all.

P!nk might have been an unusual choice for a Tony Awards host since she's never been on Broadway, but from the opening musical number — a clever, specially written rendition of "Lady Marmalade" with special guests Megan Thee Stallion and just about everyone else who has been on Broadway this season — she won over. She was charming, funny, knew when to stay out of the way and has the vocal and dance chops — as she proved with her "All That Jazz" number in the Chicago tribute – to fit right into Broadway. She was a perfect choice.

I was reading the tony awards reddit thread right, and there was a pretty large amount of confusion and pessimism around Pink hosting this year. To see all the comments after the opening number be so complimentary, to then have everyone saying she needs to be on broadway after All That Jazz…. Wow what a day to be a fan
