But just sayin, it should be merged with the official JFAD thread. At this rate they should create an OGH base, so it will be easier for us to downvote them to oblivion, just like the GP and critics with JFAD 1
TheOrangeTree Posted October 14 Posted October 14 I'd thought from the start that the lead would be released on the last Friday of October (even before the flop of Joker etc) so I'm not panicking yet. On the other hand, I have a feeling that her mini concert for Harlequin will never be released...
notshawn Posted October 14 Posted October 14 why is street saying Mr.S confirmed a Harry 18th release? anyone got a screenshot? But i'm already a 25th believer anyway so lol

The GP listened to and still listen to TF / TFM tracks. They know BTW, TOEG, Applause, etc. Meanwhile not once has Gaga had a single hit hard purely based on this large fan base support, or else we'd have B-sides like Venus sitting at 1B streams, random #1s, etc. And all these old tracks being boosted are also because the GP cares enough to support them. If little monsters wanted Judas and Bloody Mary to be hits they would've been hits in 2011, not 10 years later. I think that's because her best work comes from The Fame, The Fame Monster, and Born This Way. After ARTPOP, our fanbase took a serious hit, and it got even tougher with Joanne. From there, things started going downhill. I agree with your point. I wasn't really arguing about our "commercial power" as a fanbase, but more about having a stable place in the market. For example, it was us, not the GP, that pushed Stupid Love to peak at #5. If you destroy all the good faith with the core fanbase—the ones who support you the most—you end up with numbers like Harlequin or what happened to Katy Perry when you release side projects. The difference with L4S and Cheek 2 Cheek numbers is stark. Thankfully, we're still here and hopeful for LG7. If it turns out the way she hinted, I think we'll be back in full force. Both us and the younger GP are asking her for the same thing. "HAC-Ga" will always do well because she's incredibly talented, and older listeners don't care so much about who's singing. If the song is good and inoffensive, they'll stream it—just look at DWAS. 10 minutes ago, GipJo said: No one can have big hits purely based on fanbase (except maybe Taylor). GipJo said it best, "So the size of fanbase is never the reason a hit is big, but it could be the factor of how hard you flop." 4

Onwards she should make arts that she likes not something her fans would like, or else it would just become another Chromatica. 1
Hair Posted October 14 Posted October 14 This damn site is going the slowest it's gone in weeks for me, announcement today confirmed. 2

Before that, we were coming off a stretch that included Love for Sale and Hold My Hand musically, and image-wise, her focus had been on Haus Labs, her Vegas residency, and Nurtec. Interest was low for another ballad, especially considering she had been hinting about LG7 since January and released a snippet in May. Finding balance could really benefit her and her longevity. That's all I was trying to say—nothing more controversial than that. Having the support of her fans is always important, and it's something she can count on if she nurtures it. More specifically, speaking only for myself, after nearly five years of waiting for a full pop record, I'm more inclined to save my coins for what I truly love—hopefully LG7—rather than buying physical copies of DWAS or Harlequin. If either of those had come out after LG7, my dopamine would have definitely been like, "YAS, mother, let's collect everything!" 3 2

Spicy Pisces Posted October 14 Posted October 14 My Gaga CD collection, just because: I began collecting her solo albums on release day of TFM and have continued the tradition since (ironically Joanne was sold out everywhere, it took me a few years to casually find one copy- and thankfully it was the deluxe lol) When vinyls had a big resurgence a few years ago I bought into the hype and got the Chromatica trifold, but I now don't know if I should also collect her vinyls moving forward (I'm getting the LG7 store exclusive, that I know), go back and complete it, or just leave vinyls for my favorite cover arts- BTW 10 and TFM eat. So I'm not sure. 3
