hausofbryan Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Let's take a moment to celebrate 50 days at #1 worldwide for Miss Gaga on Spotify! By far the biggest song of 2024! 5

The formula is so overly weighted toward radio, because to the average person, most of those songs have long been gone as the biggest in the country. It'll benefit us when DWAS is still in the Top 10 in like, February, but jeez.. While I 1000% agree that radio is overly weighted, I think the reason we are seeing this chart change is because streaming replaced digital sales, and inherently digital sales promote new songs charting faster and more furious, and old songs dropping fast. It's interesting— in 2011, as a consumer you could only contribute to a digital sale once and then you're done contributing to a song's chart run forever, while in 2024 all of us streaming for example "espresso" have been contributing to its chart run 6 months now, before it would've fallen by now. if you look at Spotify's US top 25, almost every song in the billboard top 15 prediction is there, so these songs are still being consumed tbh im not blaming streaming because I love streaming but it definitely has made chart runs longer since it replaced the quick flames of digital sales i think we just aren't seeing as many new artists or songs capture the entire GP's interest as we did in the past since everyone has their own niches now and also like listening to older songs on streaming vs buying new songs 3

Gaga shouldn't have any issue debuting in the Top 10 (or even Top 5.) Y'all better not make me regret that prediction!

Stupid love would've debuted at #2 here I believe? To debut in the top 10 right now, I think the ONLY thing the song needs to be is: 1. Good 2. something her core audience is into If those two boxes are checked, I think it'll go top 20, most likely top 10. If she wants a top 5+ then I think a vinyl/cd push with alt covers, a killer music video, and good playlist could see it go as high as top 3

We don't owe it to her same as she doesn't owe us to just release pop music and not explore other sides of her artistry. I personally am very fond of Harlequin as well, but nothing scratches that itch like a full on Gaga original music era. I think for most fans this is even moreso true which is why there's not much support for these side projects. I think part of what makes her great at pop music (I still think it's her strongest suit) is the fact that she doesn't just stick to that, her artistry has a wider scope, which is why we will be getting a magnum opus with LG7 while other certain artists serve the same album repurposed for their entire career. Pure PopGa stans can be absolutely toxic as hell though for some reason it's like… please calm down how is someone liking sweet sound of heaven a 'success stan' or they say 'you don't listen to love for sale!!' Bhumisah Posted October 13 Posted October 13 (edited) I do think lead will be released on 25th if its not postponed teasing will start from friday 18th, cause she needs to build hype by posting announcement, Single cover, some promotional photos, Song 20 sec teaser, Multiple MV teasers (ala stupid love). MAKE THIS AN EVENT GAGA! WE KNOW YOU VERY MUCH CAN!! YOU ARE THE POP CULTURE Edited October 13 by Bhumisah
Denim Posted October 13 Posted October 13 I was hoping for the 18th, but this month is flying by so the 25th doesn't feel so far anymore. Either way we should probably be hearing from Gaga in the next 7-8 days
Denim Posted October 13 Posted October 13 I feel like DWAS window for going #1 is kinda over unless it just really blows up on radio and gets it after Christmas in early January, but that would require its streams to hold up dramatically by then. could happen, but I don't really care anymore about a #1. The song has proven to be her biggest hit since BTW era (in the US at least) and that has been so genuinely exciting to see more than a quick #1 that tumbles. the last push it has until then is funny enough LG7's lead release. The vinyls are shipping on the 25th, we could see a discount too. It's kinda sad we never got the recorded performances. That alongside a discount, a lyric video, and the vinyls shipping may have been enough to cross the finish line on the 25th, but would they really do that and pull focus from LG7 lead?
