compare J:FAD and ARTPOP in terms of business and GP

she is a starpower, but the stain will remain

Literally it won't. (No one cares about ARTPOP in 2024.) Not a personal knock on you, just being direct lol

That's also not how the movie industry works. It's clear many of you think the music and movie industries are the same. The success or failure of a movie is usually pinned on both the studio and the director. It's rarely pinned to any single actor or actress.

How could anyone who watched this try and pin this on Gaga :michael: Her role is minimal and at no point does the movie feel like it's revolving around her. Marketing was heavy on her, but the final product doesn't rely on her enough to justify blaming her for this flopping

It's just the narrative OGHs are trying to push since some incels are stupidly blaming Gaga for the movie being a semi-musical.  Meanwhile her performance is critically praised, which is all that matters for her acting career.  She'll be fine.

Gaga will be fine, almost all the reviews have some praise for her performance :giraffe:

What she needs now is to land a role in a A24 horror/weird ass/thriller movie :skeleton:

GP. "she was hired for this only because of musical aspect" "i won't watch other movies with her"

those are not my words.

It definitely does feel like she was only there for musical scenes, but it doesn't come off as if the movie was made for her. The lasting impression of this movie is "why was this made" it was trying to be 5 different genres at once and failed. People blaming this on Gaga are just people who wouldn't watch her movies anyways you guys are overthinking

The way some of you talk, you'd think she's about to show up on the next season of Dancing With The Stars.

:deadbanana2:

NO.. we need her as a full time POP STAR

Of course they're saying that, because they would never see something with Lady Gaga in it to begin with. Let's remind ourselves that OGH make up about 0.000000000001% of the global population and they all reside on ATRL.

if you had to sneak a Gaga song onto a work event/ family reunion/ public event playlist, which would it be and why?

For me, it would be Gypsy. I think hearing that song, many members of the GP would become Gaga stans

I... really don't think $121M is that bad? Although I don't really do films so I have no idea, I get that it was obviously projected to do more.

Also, I thought the $200M budget thing was debunked, I guess it is actually true then?

$121M WW is bad. Just rewind 3 weeks ago, its initial prediction is $130M from US alone. :dies:

Yeah. Luckily for most of her actual fans, her acting career is a side project to us and a bonus when it's good. The fact DWAS is still smashing and LG7 is upon us is my focus.

This only usually happen if both film and acting are panned, but this isn't the case for JFAD.

i think it's reality and living in reality world not in atrl forum

The true reality is Gaga has huge star power and will always be considered by label, especially when this star powerhouse can actually act.

Also in this modern day era of film market, franchises are the deciding factor of people going to see movies or not. People won't look at Avatar 4 and decided not to see it because Lady Gaga stars in it and she had an bomb film previously. If next time Adam Driver stars in a Disney live action remake as the male protagonist, people won't go thinking ''Adam delivered multiple flops so I won't go to see the story I love as a child.''

Maybe for now Gar should choose movies with smaller budgets, those are most likely to be successful :gaycat1:

Well, it's bad because the US flopped. If the US kept the 50-60M projection, it would've been pretty strong and aligned to other global markets.

With that said, I'm not defending it and we can probably expect it to have a catastrophic plunge next weekend. :rip:

but gaga is associated with this movie. Film industry is not the same as music one. Toad Joaquin and Gaga will take all the damages

I am not gonna comment on anything more on this topic. it's clear that i'm talking to myself

I think some liddos forgot that half of the audience this movie was trying to appeal to (OG Joker fans) do not like Gaga's brand and would never watch anything she is in :rip: Of course they're going to blame her, they blamed her the second the casting came out

Yeah. I agree.

But even then, actors and actresses have panned projects across the board and when they return to their next project, people are focused on the reception of that singular movie. It's much less like the music industry where people are bringing your last project forward into the next.

For example, we can even look at the interviews. No one asks her about HoG during the JFAD press tour, because it's irrelevant.

Ironic that delusional is coming out of your mouth, given you could be given the cupcake of the year award.
