JapaneseMommy Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I'm so excited to see how gaga is gonna tease the lead single, i know she's gonna tease it before the announcement as she's done it with her last two releases (dwas, harlequin).

Soup in Teapot Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Although I adore the movie, I think the current situation is good for music fans. Gar will definitely take a break on her acting career.
GipJo Posted October 5 Posted October 5 The way I put If You Go Away and Smile (harlequin version) back to back and it's a perfect transition and narrative. Arthur begged her to come back yet Harleen just sings Smile hauntingly and tells him to get over it. The imagery Maybe she should be the one pen a script next time
Denim Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I'm reading that the DWAS vinyls got pushed to October 25th? Originally they were supposed to ship today. i wonder if they thought radio would be bigger by now & JFAD would push it on streaming enough to make it go #1 this week, but seeing as that won't happen, they instead wait for radio to build, competition to fall, and maybe LG7 lead gives it a bump October 25th? they'll probably discount it on iTunes october 25th, and hopefully release a lyric video, and the live performances..

And with LG7 coming, it makes no sense pushing another song so hard side by side.

Maybe, they are thinking that LG7's lead might give DWAS a small boost in streaming from the release since it usually happens and that's what they thought with JFAD but it did not work because the movie flopped.

The only way to debut/peak #1 nowadays is with high streaming numbers, and with sales (sell many variants like taylor, ariana does), radio is never on Gaga's side since applause...
TedLasso Posted October 5 Posted October 5 (edited) Going through Metacritic scores just for fun and saw CTC had one negative review it's so funny in the context because like… whoever wrote that **** ass review totally thought the album was going to be panned and Gaga would never have a presence in jazz music and yet here we are. Seeing it get so many massive accolades and likely breaking the fastest song to reach 1B on Spotify is even more impressive/notable than a #1 IMO 1

kwek_kwek Posted October 5 Posted October 5 well. Wondering why? Lol. I think if they test screened it, they could have fixed the film.
hausofbryan Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I just wrapped up my JFAD viewing! My thoughts… Pro's: - Lady Gaga was very much part of the movie, she was a critical piece of it. I'm not sure where the "she's in it for 10 minutes" or "she's a cameo" came from. In most scenes, she's there. Without her, he wouldn't have derailed his defense the way he did. - Visually it was gorgeous. There were so many parts where I was like. Ah, these colors and lighting are pleasing. - Joaquin and Gaga did amazing acting. They really hit it out of the park. - As someone that has struggled with mental health, including suicidal ideation earlier in my life, there were parts that really struck a nerve with me. It was hard at points, but also very powerful and memorable. I appreciated it. Con's: - THE SCRIPT! How in the heck did that get approved?! It was such a shame, because while they both acted beautifully, their characters went nowhere. At the end, you're wondering why the movie even existed because nothing was happening for most of it. - Pacing. Within 2 seconds, they fall in love. 3 seconds later, she's becoming him. But then we spend 500 hours in a boring ass court room drama. Boy, was the second half of the film a drag. Half of the scenes could've been cut and the movie would've told the same story. - The music. Sorry, this didn't need to be a full musical (and it was, no matter how they spin it.) There were definitely points that the music fit and it was pretty clever. There were others that it felt random and forced. - The unnecessary twists. Toward the end, when there's the explosion, I rolled my eyes. It felt way too random and unnecessary. They could've come to the same ending without that random detour. Overall I'd probably give it a 60-70 out of 100 or a C-. Would I see it again? Probably not. Does it deserve a 30% on RT? Also no. It was pretty entertaining most of the time, and not all films need to be an A. 2
