PerfectCure Posted June 2 Posted June 2 1 minute ago, PlERRE said: What if there's no "lead single" release properly? Just the album and they pushing 1 or 2 songs. Like Taylor did with Cardigan (?) during folklore. I don't think this would be a good idea. Gaga's the type of artist that needs actual hype before an album drops, a taste of what's to come. 4

June 7th is still a really good release date It's just a rumor; nothing has been confirmed. It came up because the album is coming out in August, and a lead single being released two whole months before is a bit unusual in 2024. (See what happened to Dua Lipa.) I'm hoping for next week tho

Is this the first time she's finished an album before releasing (or announcing ) the lead single? Not sure but I do remember Heavy Metal Lover wasn't added onto Born This Way like two weeks before release, and same with Venus on ARTPOP. I don't know that it would be as easy nowadays, but I guess she could still change things last minute if she wanted. 1

Let's see how this turns out It would explain her acting loudly excited about the Fortnite thing during release out of nowhere, we discussed here in the base that a possible collaboration was the reason. 1

Top 10 + 9 weeks if it means having solid stable streams for more time, longevity is more important in the streaming era and the total of streams are more indicative of a song success nowadays than Hot100 peaks. 1

Lots of hype on the first day and the first day numbers get to determine future single choices.
Lüwís Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I was thinking about the ARTPOP app recently and how it never really took off. She has some really great ideas that just never seem to materialise. I think the idea of artists having their own app is still a good idea. One or two free songs, fans get to buy full albums, selling merchandise, release music videos, etc. If I was an artist I'd have my app feature a tree, with branches being added on whenever a new album is released or something. Add different themes so instead of a tree there'd be a library and other things for fans to choose how their app looks, Idk. Spotify is good but they should have spaces like little forums for fans to discuss things.
