Yall are getting so tired if youre back to dragging **** like JnP like less than 6 months after Tony died. We're getting new music soon. Stop treating her like she's Taylor Swift, the McDonalds factory of music, and start treating her like Lady ******* Gaga. It seems like most of the people chronically complaining in here for the past 4 years need a new hobby or something because Gaga isn't the problem anymore, its your own mental illness. Miracle Posted February 12 Posted February 12 That's not realistic girls... She's not doing six concerts in Germany. Rihanna also has 2024 TBA. And she's definitely not gonna embark in a tour, much less in a tour wth dates in six different german cities https://www.ticketbande.com/concert-tickets/rihanna 1

No one will cancel her for doing country, or country inspired music but to receive recognition and success from it that’s a different story. Especially if you were a dance diva without any country attachment for years. 3

Aden Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Joanne is underrated sonically but where I do think the reception to the album made sense was in the way it was thematically executed, which was pretty off. An album that fuses subgenres of country with pop and speaks to the passing of a late aunt she herself never met. And she tried to justify the genre by alluding to her mother being born in West Virginia, which while true is still not something uniquely personal or relevant to Gaga as a person. This is why the record came off inauthentic. Gaga was probably throwing whatever she could together because she knew she had to make a more toned-down album in that point of her career. I just wish she did something more in the singer/songwriter vein (which she's EXCELLENT at) and had gone with a narrative more akin to "I'm just trying out new genres for myself and pushing myself artistically." She even could have kept the title Joanne since it's one of her forenames. Joanne is such an important album to Gaga's trajectory but the d**d aunt theme will definitely go down as one of the most bizarre artistic choices Gaga has ever made. 2 1

Artur Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Watched Usher's performance and it felt so rushed, so many songs and artists in those 13 minutes. I'm really glad Gags ended up doing less songs, it flows so much better + she still has lots of unperformed smashes to use in her next Superbowl gig. I wonder which ones would she pick. Hate that she would probably perform PF and BR again since they are her biggest hits, maybe a quick 2min medley with both. Hot Volcano Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Wasn't deuxmoi the first to report on Bey releasing Act II and it being a country album? They were the ones who reported Gaga and Bey potentially starring in a western movie. The way Bey's visual for the album announcement where western based

Gaga doing that genre never made any sense. I like Joanne but I always felt that the aesthetic she was going for felt too contrived and lacked authenticity especially with the knowledge that she's an Italian girl from New York City. Joanne would have felt more authentic had it been a rock album because we know Gaga grew up on classic rock from her playing her father's vinyl records. It was awkward when she described her mother's family from West Virginia listening to country music only for Cynthia to go on a btwf interview and say she and her family only listened to classical rock, Motown and jazz And then you have Gaga playing "Joanne" to her grandmother which was a cute sentimental exchange but even her grandmother's reaction was kind of awkward. 3

Gaga has always referenced Joanne though? I do think it was bizarre, but considering she published her poem in the album liner of The Fame and talked about her a lot it wasn't that surprising at least for me. The execution could've been better though. 2
