Not saying the views are not solid considering the song flopped, but they are definitely not 'high' by any means especially for Gaga standards. Hold my Hand also flopped and yet it had great views for a video in 2022.

There's so many factors that go into YouTube views.

 

mostly, if your video is safe, family friendly, and a crowd pleaser, your music video will get a lot of plays.

 

big contrast to the 2009-2011 days where more controversial videos did well.

 

its no surprise to me that DWAS is doing as well as it is on YouTube, but…. Lowkey its domination on YouTube is almost more impressive than its Spotify domination. Its very rare for a music video to do as well as DWAS is doing these days…

 

so I would say DWAS is more of an outlier than disease is on YouTube. Back to my point (in which I terribly typo'd my way into destroying the point), the grand majority of 2024 hits don't have 200m yet… DWAS has 500m
 

disease isn't doing that poorly on YouTube. It's doing okay, same as it's doing on radio and Spotify. Nowhere near "huge flop" but also not a hit. Somewhere in the middle 
 

the true test for disease will be its longevity. I have high hopes that the song will have legs due to how good it is. Government hooker, Bloody Mary, Judas, and heavy metal lover are all doing phenomenal recurrent on Spotify, yes they got a boost from TikTok virality, but also because they're good. Disease is amazing and stylistically is most similar to these songs

All the b!tch had to do was release Alice (or Replay) as Chrome's lead single and none of these solo shenanigans would even be a conversation. But alas…

The thing is, she needs GP support for a hit. I still think we are a really big fanbase WW, but it's clear monsters are not enough in order for her get a real smash. She must focus on something average people will also enjoy and play while working, at weddings, at celebrations and funerals. It doesn't even have to be a ballad. Just something really well crafted and easy to listen to. Which does not mean it needs to be basic or simple, by the way.

 

I have a feeling she cooked something really good for LG7 after DWAS smashery. We will see.

 

 

And yes, releasing Stupid Noise as a lead single was clearly a test for our patience. Real monsters only!
